I want boston Acoustic 6x9s in my Patriot. I think it'll be pretty nice with them. =) And definitely keep us updated. I think this thread is gonna be a nice one with lots of audio info, at least I want it to =)

I went with Polk Audio MM6501 front speakers and Polk Audio MM691 rear speakers. They all fit perfectly in the doors even though Crutchfield said the front speakers wouldn't fit. I just had to get a 6.5" to 6x9 adapter plate. I am giving each of these speakers 125w RMS from my MB Quart Onyx 4.125 amp.

Hmm, I've never head of Polk audio. I may look into them.

Polk audio is pretty big in the mobile audio market. Most people who go to best buy and local audio stores don't know about them because all these stores carry are pioneer, kenwood, kicker, rockford fosgate, JL audio. Have a look on crutchfield.com

I've been on there a couple of times, but I'm not a huge huge fan of it. It's okay on there.

srt,
i agree with cody, polk audio is a very good brand and well worth the extra look.

does anyone know what size speakers are in the dash? i just had the base stereo and havent poped off the grill. are there speaker wires run already, or do i have to run new ones? thanks.

Yeah, amazon has super cheap prices! I do like going on there to look at the prices. mrg455, the dash speakers, (tweeters) if I'm not mistaken are 3 1/2 speakers.

i was completly satisified with my system until i started reading this thread. the highs were high, mids were mid, and just enough thump to be well rounded, but now I'm not happy with it anymore....I want more. I just ordered 4 new 6x9's i went with CDT 690cfx's. I've never heard of them but after talking to Jerry of Thunder Audio Video (which I highly recomend) I'm going to run them with a kicker KX300.4. I'm not sure if I'm going to keep the sub or not yet since I heard the CDT's put out some base. I'll keep you posted.

srt, just be careful with amazon some of the dealers sell new products, but products that arn't under manufacturer warranties. I am now a big fan of Thunder Audio Video, the prices on the website are ok, but if you call the toll free number you will get a higher discount (something to do with MSRP rules), but give them a look if you need anything.

Tomorrow or the following day I will be putting (2) JBL GTO804 in a sealed box that gives .3 cuft to each sub. I want to see if I will like these better then the 10" American Bass XD sub I have in a vented box that I am currently running. I will let you all know.

Currently the 10" American Bass XD sub sounds great. The advantage of going to the (2) JBLs are more space in the cargo area and more cone area, so more air movement.

Hell yeah brah! Cone area is the best! That's why L5s and L7s hit so hard. I just got my amp wire today. Just the power and ground. Got it for free too =D So now I just need subs, an amp, and a good box.

cody, are you running a crossover, or does your amp have one built in? i had a seperate one, but the built in one seemd to be just as good.

Each of my door speakers have their own crossover. I am using the crossover on the amp for the sub and using the one built into the head unit for the sub as well. If I didn't have a crossover that came with the door speakers I would have just used the crossover on the amp.

Bump it up and let's see those 12s and 15s! Pics everybody!

I am running with the alpine Ina-w900 and a p1 (10") Rockford fosgate, with top end alpine door speakers.- but it blows everyone's minds whenever they hear it. The acoustics in my pat are awesome!

I found some awesome 8" subwoofers that I might be running because the fiance' will now be driving the Pat. RE REX series 8" subs. They pound with the right box. I've heard them in person and I like them.
