I just thought i would post this up. I was bored and wanted to know what you thought of your Patriot. On a scale from 1 to 5, 5 being you would be buy another down the road and 1 being you want to drive it off a cliff.

P.S. This might have been posted before, so sorry if it was

1) @*$! no!

2) Too much like a car

3) Maybe

4) Yes, some things can change

5) Want another!

4.5 sorry haha

pro:
-economy frig-gin loving it!!!
-great approach and tons of room for all gear and friends!
-Great overall vehicle and meets 99% my needs!

con:
-off road capability- all models should of came with tow hooks 4low stock!!!!!

I need to let Jeep know this...

Well shopping now to trade my 08 for an 11, so guess a 5. Are there things I would change, sure, if I could. Is there another vehicle out there for the price, that gives the same or better mileage, and has the off road capabilities I need? No.

4 overall. if jeep built a little more "modability" into it. not solid axles etc, but thought about mounting larger tires, etc, to design that in, it would be great. other than that, its pretty good. maybe a bigger gas tank too! I need range.

It's early for me to be definitive - I've only got 1000 miles on it, haven't been off-road yet, and I'm just getting the hitch receiver installed today - but so far I'd give it a 4.5. Would have liked to get a 4LO and skid plates in a manual transmission, but that was my tradeoff for gas mileage. Love the price, economy, and the way it rides on the highway.

give it a 4 and will probably get another one,
07 with 90k miles on it

pro's ,
made in US with 76% US/canuck parts
price,
4x4,
handling,
Overall quality is great

cons,
quality issues on suspension such as control arms,
dang gas mileage on FDII, getting jealous of reading MPG's from FDI and 4x2 owners,

I've had my Compass for 3 1/2 years and about 75,000 miles. It's a great vehicle but I'm going to give it a 4.

My only complaints/critiques:

1) I wish it had better gas mileage for a fairly small 2.4 L engine.
2) I'd like to see a traditional automatic transmission and not a CVT which costs ~ $300 to change its fluid.

I'd say 5 except that I don't like some of the "improvements" that have been made since the 08 model. Most specifically I want to keep my vinyl seats. So I won't be buying a new one. They could possibly lure me in with a rear window that opens and a super low "crawl" gear with the manual transmission.

Fortunately I have a lifetime warranty.

2011 Latitude 4x4 with 2500 miles

Pros:

- great gas mileage (compared to my last car)
- plenty of room for stuff
- great ride on the road (haven't had it off road yet)
- excellent in the snow

Cons:

- fuel tank is too small
- no tow hooks (that's blasphemy!)
- no skid plates (there should be at least a front skid)
- no turbo option
- can't keep my wife out of it

so a 4

3

Pros:

excellent gas mileage with 2.4/5 speed
Plenty of room
VERY surprising off road abilities for the FD1

Cons:
Interior is not the highest wuality, no the hard dash doesn't bug me, but some parts feel so fragile
Gas mileage on FD2 (This would be the model I would have to get if I got another one).
lack of power on road and off.
Front end wander on the highway.

I would consider an 11, especially a 12 if it goes DI and multiair

1.
Maybe a 2 since it is not a bad car for what it is.

Too small, too slow, too low, uses too much fuel for 4 cylinder standards. My old V6 3.5 was faster while using less fuel.
Im looking at a 5.7L v8 300c and a large powerful 4x4.

Why do you need fast. It goes fast enough to get a ticket. And your talking about fuel then in the same breath your talking about getting 2 v8s. That foes not make sense. My pat ha settled in and getting good milage for an fdII. Just the tank is smaller. I also have a suburban that is good for a v8 and it uses way more than my pat.

0-100kmh in 11 seconds (me only) makes a pain of highway driving especially overtaking and accelerating up to the speed limit with traffic barreling down on you. That's not even taking into account passengers or cargo.

On the freeway revving it to over 4000rpm to keep it at the speed limit with 4 passengers is not my idea of fun and that makes highway fuel consumption 9.5L/100km.
Best consumption I have seen is 8.6L/100 and it was a hard job getting it there.

At least with the 300c V8 it is more fun and sounds awesome. I am willing to pay for more fuel when I am enjoying myself.

I cant stand the CVT transmission either. I think that adds to the slow feeling.
Normal auto or manual for me only from now.

If I had a small 4 cylinder with no power and was getting 6L/100kms then I would be fine, because at least its costing me F.A in fuel. But now I have a 4 cylinder with not much power and stuff all torque and getting 11.1L/100kms combined.

My Patriot test drive was not long enough I guess. I have no idea what I was thinking when buying it. The novelty wore off after 6 months and since then I have been trawling through pages and pages of online car sales looking for something.

****ing now I have made myself angry. Buying the Patriot was $10,000 pissed down the drain :( Would of been better to keep my old car, fix the problems with it and then set 10,000 dollars on fire.
