Hi everyone I am actually a Liberty owner not a Patriot owner but I am trying to learn as much as I can about the Patriot. Here is a little bit of history, My wife has always wanted an XJ Cherokee because she liked the boxiness in the end I talked her into getting a KJ Liberty instead because I really like them. We have 3 Libertys (well really 4 but one is a parts truck) Anyway the first time she saw a Patriot she fell in love with the style of it, so sometime this year we will be giving her 2004 Liberty to our son as his first car and buy a Patriot for her. Which is why I joined here to learn everything I can before we buy one. So far this site seems to be full of good info :smiley_thumbs_up:

Here are some pics of my Libertys:

Welcome!

I looked at the Liberty as a replacement for my Tracker, but the mileage worried me. I was getting 27-29 MPG in the Tracker, and folks I talked to with liberties told me they were getting 17MPG. So then I looked at the Patriot, and better mileage, and finally bought an 08 Patriot Sport, with the Trail Rated package. I still wish I could get more MPG, and am considering the FDI for my next one, since they increased the clearance on those. But I'm still not sure, I like my FDII a lot, just would like a few more MPG. I drive a lot, and it makes a difference to me.

Why the double plates in the first photo?

oh how I miss my liberty. I have a 2011 pat right now. I love my pat, but that Liberty was like my best friend. I put it through a LOT and it ran beautifully for a long time. Lots of good times and memories in that Jeep. The Liberty is the reason I bought a jeep again. You will feel like you're sitting lower in the Pat, but the ride is a lot smoother and everyone has commented that it is more comortable inside than my old Liberty.
