rails

When I bought my Pat if the Compass looked like it does now AND it had the rails like on the Pat, then I might of bought it instead. I like the 'fastback' look, but you lose a little and since I kayak a lot and don't like 'factory' cross bars (use Thule) I did not like the rail on the Compass. Now that the Compass has a FDII option, if it had the Pat rails I think I would buy one.

I like how the Compass sort of looks like a mini Grand Cherokee. I have only seen pics, have not seen one in person yet, should go to the dealer and check it out I suppose.

Patriot looks like a Jeep.
Compass looks like a regular SUV in it's class

I almost agree, i think the new compass looks like a response to crossovers like chevy equinox. The Compass back-end screams *crossover*.

The riot, though technically a crossover, is the most SUV-like crossover I can think of, and particularly the FDII seems to me to so blur the line between SUV and Crossover that it is in a class by itself.... called 'Jeep Patriot'!

The Pat is a crossover because of the chassis (and gas milage), and (at least the FDII) is an SUV because of the off roading hardware and software.

The Compass was just a cross-over... and I still consider it one, although now the FDII Compass blurs another line.... except that it *looks* like a crossover. I'd say, its alot better looking *crossover* than the earlier Compass

. when you drove a Hemi and change for a GEMA 4 cyl..u want to cry!!! LOL
That is why I am going the other way. 300c hemi here I come!!

At least the 300c has about the same ground clearance as the Patriot.

When I first got the Patriot someone asked me if I lowered it.
Everyone comments on how low it is.

I'd buy one, but I wouldn't want people to mistake it for a compass.
