Ok so I was playing in some mud with some friends in my riot. Then I got stuck all 4 spinning. So my friends truck pulled me out. While I was spinning traction control and bas and abs lights were all on. Once I started driving like 5 feet they went off. But as I'm driving away I heard a weird noise. At first it was real loud I though it was my cvt but it is not. So it started loud then I drove about 20 miles and it got pretty quick this morning I drove it and it was still there.
I know it's not the tranny because it still made the noise in neutral. Let me describe the noise..

From the drivers seat it seems to be coming from the passanger side of the car. I think it's the front right. It sounds like part of the rotor may be bend because it's not a solid rubbing. Its more like after a rotation of the wheel something rubs. It's not really a grinding but it's Definatly a audible rubbing I can hear and feel at low speeds. And at high speeds since I know it's there I can hear it. I only have 17500 miles so I'm still under warentee I'm just wondering if anyone else has ever had this problem.

Thanks :)

Check you haven't got bits of vegetation, branches and such in the works, ie. stuck between the shrouding and the brake-disc (rotor). This is really common after any off-road trip. Sometimes you can get small bits of stone trapped in the brake-pads, especially if the wheels have been spinning in sand or mud; when these start to rub against the disc (rotor) not only do they make a hell of a noise but they also cause rapid damage. Have you given the underneath a really savage pressure-wash. That's well worthwhile.
If you have to take it in for repairs make sure you've washed off any trace of your off-road adventures ("No way, Sir, this vehicle never ever leaves the tarmac. I'd be way too scared to go anywhere wildernessy..they have things with teeth and claws out there..")*

so got out the powerwasher jacked up the front of the car on jackstands and then took the tires off completly washed everything out with pressure. then i went and tried it again. and it still makes to same noise. it seems to happen when i corner more often then just driving. also seems to happen more in reverse than drive. my dad thinks its fine no big deal. idk :/ i hope my tranny isant broke :(

Btw here are a few pictures :)

comment on FB from one of my friends moms lol

So after further investigation. I feel like the noise is either coming from the front differential or the front drive shaft link. I had my whole car in the air. And pin pointed the noise. My front right rotor is slightly bend but it is within tollerence level. I'm going to pull the calibers off this week sometime, and test it without them on. But yeah that shouldnt be the problem. It's either the differential, drive shaft link, or maybe my CVT? ;( all of them should be considered under warrantee hopefully. If the brake rotor don't fix it I'll set up a appointment with jeep

I don't reckon it's a smashed diff, Joey. Now that you've showed the kind of terrain you were climbing, it doesn't look like the sort of stuff that would wreck a diff, even with lots of one-sided wheel-spin. I also don't think it's the tranny; cornering shouldn't play a big part where that's concerned.
Shrouding catching on brake-rotor? CV joints?

it was like the hill then a 2 foot hump i was stupid to try to go over it... but heres a recording of the noise. i took it to the dealership and they want to be able to hear it better because i said when its cold it sounds louder... but here is a voice recording with my iphone in the passenger side foot well... they were talking and said it might be my axel :/

you'll hear the weird noise around 4 seconds and 14seconds its like a weird noise... ;(
