I don't even notice the silver edges. Maybe you could do some "faux painting" on the edges, but I'd be concerned with making it look worse. I think it will be a long time before anyone makes a "3D" kit. They are available only for a few best sellers. IMHO, the wood-grain kit looks dramatically better, however, because of the cost, I would discourage anyone from buying them if you have any doubts.

I am waiting for a kit that wraps around the whole thing, how bad does the silver look next to the wood grain? Could I black it out with some krylon fusion (for plastics?) or is there a special paint for this? I either want the silver to be covered, or disappear...

What your looking for a is a molded kit... I'm pretty sure I've seen a few...

I agree with you and your comment about the silver edges.. I don't mind that look... I just don't prefer it...

Bad thing is that you can get full kits only.
I would need the 3 parts i outlined in the earlier image.
It would be very expensive to get the complete kit if i only need the 3 parts.

rends, I would actually suggest you get the full kit, even with the metal, so all the surfaces in your patriot match. Even if they are slightly off, it will look odd having two different metallic finishes right next to each other. Just my opinion I guess.

WhatARiot,
hm yes i need to keep that in mind but i´m still searching for alternatives of the 3 parts except an expensive full kit.

Any other Patriot driver out there with dash kits installed?
If so i would like to see some photos!

Time to wake up an old thread:

Anyone else who installed a dash kit in the meantime?

Can I ask...do you find there is an increased amount of rattling with the dash parts considering they have been removed and new ones have been put in? Just wasn't sure as sometimes when things don't quite match this can happen and I wanted to know how spot on the kits really are :) Nice work though!

Nothing is removed during the installation of the dash kits discussed in this thread. The decorative panels stick on with a 3M adhesive.

Not on mine. It had the cut-out for the switch only. On a Pat with manual windows, it would leave an empty hole.

Charcoal Cherry wood dash kit

I got this from Autoanything for a great deal. The Sherwood kit had all the pieces I wanted. Very happy how it turned out. The silver areas that didn't get covered gives a nice contrast. A little tip in installing this very sticky stuff - get it very warm inside so you can easily reposition the pieces if necessary. Also I didn't use the chemical stuff they included as it might ruin the silver finish in case I wanted to take some of the pieces off. I did use just regular alcohol on a rag and tested the areas by using masking tape.

Have just ordered a Wood kit for my Avenger Interior from a company in Brooklyn NY. I have gone with " Gray Mable" . The interior already has quite a bit of dark plastic , so I didnt want light wood as that would stick out like a sore thumb!!

I emailed them pics of my interior as mine is Right Hand Drive , and the guy is going to adjust the kit accordingly . Most parts will fit without change , but the armrest controls are backwards to the LHD models as withe top of dash vents.

I havnt got it yet & prob wont fit it untill the weather gets warmer..

I notice there are quite a lot of 07-09 Patriot kits on ebay with various types of material , even Carbon Fibre.....
