Dang, need new windshield already

Does anyone know does the "wind, bug" deflector help at all with with keeping things from hitting the windshield?

Damn that sucks. I had mine replaced yesterday and luckily my deductible wasnt too bad. Without insurance I think it would have cost me around 350 according to the invoice.

Had to have mine replaced a while back, $330, no glass insurance available where I am.

I had the bug deflector installed from the dealer, didn't help me any.

Was driving down the highway Saturday, no cars ahead of me, then out of the blue a red Ford Pick Up going way over the speed limit flys past me, and changes lanes way to close to me. (there was absolutely no need to change lanes so quickly or that close to me. As his drivers side tire crested the white line, it kicked up a rock and sent it stright into the center of my windshield. SMASH! I was impressed as to the minimal damage the window recieved, but there is a large chip in it now. I wanted to follow that idiot and beat the ever living crap out of him, but that would only have ended badly for me. So I'm off to Safelite for a repair...

Dang, need new windshield already
