I apologize in advance. I really do.

I am a new used Pat owner (new to 4x4, etc) and have been thinking of some modifications for my Pat, and have been looking around for as much info as I can find. I think I will have skid plates and the lift installed in the next few weeks. I bought the Pat to take off-road, and I intend on putting it through a workout. The problem is that, driving a Sport 4x4, I don't have factory tow hooks. So, I've been looking around for options and came across a few here, but what I'm really looking at is a front end like one pictured on a Patriot concept in 2006, seen HERE.

What would I call something like this when looking for similar available options? Does anyone here have anything like this?

Again, I apologize for the silly question. I feel like the answer is obvious - I just don't know it.

That one is called the SEMA Patriot. There is a guy here on the list trying to duplicate that steel bumper. Those are tow eyes rather than tow hooks. It would be very difficult to add them to a stock Patriot bumper because some kind of superstructure would need to be built behind the plastic bumper cover. Unless you can do it yourself, you are looking at big money. Chrysler offers factory tow hooks that mount to the frame. several people here have posted their projects of adding these hooks to their Patriots.

Good luck. Have fun.

It sure can't hurt to ask. It would make the Patriot a landslide more useful off road.

If I ran the Jeep division, Jeeps would all come with a steel bumper you could could use to yank stumps out of the ground. Tragically they have not offered me that job.

I'm coming down on the side of the guys that believe the unibody construction of the Patriot (as opposed to the ladder style frame) really limits what can be added to make the Patriot a real offroad contender and stump puller. I love driving mine but it is what it is, not a CJ.

this was done by crdstu here in australia, its a complete unit, bolts to the subframe etc,
there are only 4 made sofar shipping to the states would be expensive especially that the aussie dollar is so strong atm

Those look great Butch. First I've seen those, thanks.

I wonder how much weight they would add? For the cost of adding tow hooks and skid plate (sounds like one is included with that front bumper?) it's a great option for folks.

I would love to see one with the optional brush guard, and winch too.
