Hi all! I hope this Jeep comes to enjoy the same reputation as my Cherokee did. I had that vehicle for nine years with no major problems whatsoever. Then I clobbered a deer (actually the deer ran into me) and now I have the Patriot. Sandstone was not my first color choice, but it's kinda grown on me, and the dealer was right -- it doesn't show the dirt like some of the other colors. It has more options than I really need, but I think I might enjoy the heated seats and remote start in the winter. :smiley_thumbs_up: I just hope it has the same capabilities the Cherokee had in handling snowy roads. At 5am, I sometimes AM the plow around here (upstate NY). I love me Jeeps!

Nice Patriot, corgimom! I like the subtle sandstone color. I finally gave up on my '95 Cherokee (bought new) this year when everything started rotting away, and replaced it with a 2010 Sport. I'm also looking forward to a northern New York winter, and expect to stay happy - especially with the heated mirrors! It took me awhile to get used to the differences from my faithful Cherokee, but after driving it for over 5 months, I can't imagine going back - especially when I fill up the tank!

Welcome!

I wanted the Sandstone, but was not available when I got mine. The reason I wanted it was it doesn't look dirty often like darker colors. My friend has a Compass in that color.

My FDII Pat does great on snow covered roads, over the last 2 winters I only locked in 4wd once. The AWD does really well all on it's own, you'll be pleasantly surprised I think. And the ESP really works too, keeps me from playing around sliding my rear end in the snow though, but that's what it's there for.

Here's a video of 2 FDI Pats going up my driveway last winter.

Thanks for the welcomes! :beerchug: Wow dixiedawg, that's some trail, er driveway in that video! :wow: Reminds me of the snowmobile trails around here. ;) Maybe I will be able to plow the roads this winter -- though there's not quite the clearance my Cherokee had. jrmiller, I forgot about the heated mirrors -- yes, I think I'll like that little perk too. Nice to know a former Cherokee owner speaks highly of the Patriot -- especially when I had to go out and buy one on short notice.

part of my driveway is a portion of the Potter County snowmobile trail. And those folks have stopped to give me a push a couple times in the winter.

Once in my Tracker I got high centered when pulling off their trail onto the portion of my driveway near the house. They had the trail built up high with packed snow, and when I pulled the front end off that to my drive, the front end dropped into deep snow and I was high centered on the edge. About 10 sleds stopped to help. Of course I was blocking part of their trail, lol.
