So I had some fun in the sand again. playing around with the patriot and how it works.

I got to experience the "loss of power" that I've heard about. I was climbing up some sandy hills at different speeds. Unless I go VERY slow I can make it, but if I do go slow the jeep stops and the engine hardly revs...it was a very frustrating experience. Even in 4x4 lock and esp full off, the jeep wouldnt move. You can all see for yourself in video 2. I've heard if effects all models of the pat except the UK ones. Good old CVT...

The hill doesn't look as steep as it actually was. It was a good 35 degree slope in the sand.

I still had fun and I still love my pat, it can do pretty well.

There is a spot in the movie where my peddle gets stuck on full....it was weird and scary, still need to figure out if it was my floor mat or the peddle it self.

Enjoy the vids!

more to come soon!

Very cool! I need to find some dirt to play in!

Interesting when you got stuck on the hill in the first one. I'm assuming it's an FDI? BLD's could have helped, but what I've found more important is momentum on hills.

I've had all 4 wheels spin in snow, then nothing, the wheels will not spin no matter how much gas you give it (this was something I had to get used to for sure), ESP full off does help this though.

Would be cool to see several Pats there with you, and an FDII too, for comparison.

Thanks for the videos.

The Tires are 225/65/17, one size up from the 215/65/17. They gave me an extra Inch of height because I had those horrible Firestones 215/60/17. I love these new Good year Fortera's.

It is an FD1. I did figure out I just needed more momentum but it was still dumb how the car would just stop...

I've seen other videos where the the front wheels spin, but the rear aren't.
Can someone explain whats going on ? From what I read, when front wheel slippage is detected, some power will be transferred to the rear, and you get all wheels going...

excellent vids!!! thnx for sharing and congrats, very nice color!! ;)

is a 4x4, but not the FDII, because is not a limited version, maybe the FDII could help better, but is still a good 4x4!

congrats!
