:pepper:Last night while watching TV on came a commercial for JEEP Grand Cherokee. WOW.
The commercial highlighted "made in America, designed in America, an American icon (WW11 JP) built by Americans, American that made high-quality, beautiful products. IMPRESSED was I. Well I could have stood and cheered.
Has anyone else seen it?

A great commercial , well executed. However who ever chose that nasty brown leather interior???? Not a good choice for its first advert!!

I liked the ad--but their remark about "jeep(note small "j" as not a brand as yet...) 4x4s" were really Willys Overlands. Other than that I was really impressed with the "straight stitches and clean welds" something many of us can relate to. Where did the fine hardwood--was that walnut, or??--on the steering wheel come from?

I liked the commercial just not the product it was pushing. It would have made a better Wrangler commercial. I wouldn't mind seening a Patriot commercial done in the same kind of spirit. It just might boost the sales and clear out the last year model.

It is an impressive commercial. I couldn't help but notice that the invention of the jet engine was absent. The new shape'll take a bit of getting used to. Not sure about that sterring wheel though. Is ir steam powered? LOL.

Best interior for me is very plane Jane. I love the rubber floors in my truck, first I blow the crap out with air, then pull the mat that covers the entire floor, wash it off, then armour all it, and put it back in, looks like brand new.

I want something that cleans up easily, takes some abuse, and bounces back.

I loved the interior too. And the brown leather :)
But I'd be too nervous about ruining it with mud/dirt/snow.

I love the look. But I'd rather have fabric and easy clean surfaces for practicality.

The problem is that there isn't a lot of things that are still "Made In America" That and the whole American Pride thing is deflating. We need that WWII era work ethics and sense of pride.

No, I am not that old I but I was raised by Grandpa who installed some of that in me.

more companies should start advertising *Made In USA*..

if they re really interested in helping the economy..BUY AMERICAN:smiley_thumbs_up:
It helps when the stuff is ACTUALLY made in the US. There's a bunch of "American" cars that aren't, and and bunch of "foreign" cars that are.

Then there's all the other stuff that just isn't made here anymore, period.

I'm not convinced we do the US a favor when we accept substandard items just because they're made by our fellow citizens. All we do is encourage crap. When "Made in the USA" means "high quality," then sure, I'll look for made here. When it means "poorly designed items thrown together by factory workers who flat don't care," then I'll buy an imported item.

I love that leather, Ford uses in their King Ranch package, wish Dodge would have offered it in the Laramie.

And using Cash's "God's gonna cut you down" was brilliant, one of my favorite songs.
