I made an appointment at the dealer for Monday. I compiled a list of things, all under warranty, and read 'em slowly to the service manager. I think at some point, I heard a heavy sigh. :) And maybe even a grumble as I started quoting the TSB numbers. (thanks to you guys here)

It's going in for:

- ESP full off issue. Which until my snow trip two weeks ago I thought I didn't have.

- Trim pieces along the sides of the front windshield

- Trim piece along the bottom of the front windshield. I haven't heard anyone here with that problem, but a slim plastic/rubber piece came flying off completely that fits against the bottom of the glass.

- Clunking noise in the front suspension - again. I'm thinking a tie rod fitting.

- Rattling at the front roof, passenger side. This might be tied to just wind noise from the windshield trim pieces.

- Paint sealant reapplication. Something we get for free that they re-apply every 6-months to help keep the paint from fading in the sun.

I'm hopeful all of this is free, and gets done in a day. I also hope that it doesn't rain Monday because I will be driving my Charger, which does NOT like the rain. :)

might as well get your money's worth out of the remainder of your warranty. that's why this forum is great...it allows people to educate themselves and not be at the mercy of the money-whoring dealership service managers who would rather you pay for something out of pocket than get reimbursed from Chrysler Corp. dealerships don't actively inspect vehicles that come into their service bays for evidence of TSB's. you would think they would, since it means more money for them since they get more hourly compensation from Chrysler Corp, but i have a feeling that there are shady deals where dealerships are "recommended" to only perform a certain # of TSB's in a month.

Got my Patriot back late yesterday.
Here's what they did:

Problem: ESP full off issue.
Solution: Updated programming per the TSB. It works perfectly now!

Problem: Trim pieces along the sides of the front windshield
Solution: Ordered new trim pieces. He says the TSB doesn't apply to my Pat so they didn't want to just "glue" them back on.

Problem: Trim piece is gone along the bottom of the front windshield.
Solution: Ordered new trim piece.

Problem: Clunking noise in the front suspension - again.
Solution: Replaced dust cover and bumper stops. Ordered new lower control joint (I need to double check his part, to make sure that is correct).

Problem: Rattling at the front roof, passenger side.
Solution: Nothing. Wind noise from loose trim.

Problem: Paint sealant reapplication.
Solution: Re-applied.

Total cost to me: $0

But I don't like having to come back for another service appointment in a week.

Regarding the clunking noise in the front suspension, I took mine in about a month ago and, according to the dealer, it was the rack and pinion! They replaced it because they found it to have something loose inside. All free... but... noise came back after awhile.

Tyler,
When in regular 4x4 (not 4-lo) pressing and holding the ESP button would not turn the ESP fully off. I have done a lot of desert off-roading and never have noticed it or needed it.
But about two weeks ago, we went up into heavy snow and got stuck (had to get out and push) in a situation that I know would have been easier if I could have let all the wheels spin freely without any ESP getting in the way.
