Hey all, im new to jeeps and 4x4's...

I have just put my deposit down for my first 4x4 patriot 2.0l tdi 6speed in silver.

My previous ride was a toyota supra track built and heavily modified so this is a whole new world for me..

My goals with the patriot will be road wheels either 20" or 22", dark tints, cold air intake, full exhaust upgrade, possibly custom stereo setup if i get around to it, and possibly lift kit depending on how much off road work i end up doing.

Reason for my purchase of a patriot was all my relatives own 4x4's and go on weekend benders out in the bush fishing camping and pissin' up. having a car that sits 130mm off the ground didnt allow me to get out there with the crowd. So this shall be all new to me..

Hopefully on thursday 21st january i should be able to pickup my new patriot from the dealer..

Once i get it, i will post pics and regular updates on any mods that may come my way and any adventures i get to..

Be nice and dont flame anything i post, cheers!

 :smiley_thumbs_up:

yeah there were only 5 in australia apparently of the 2009 model. so im lucky to have 1 of 5...
they discontinued after 2008 model and are changing to the fiat turbo diesel in 2010 model..
the car came with the luxury pack - tinted windows, leather wrapped wheel, 6stacker cd/mp3 player, they threw in nudge bar and tow bar for same price also..

Hi and welcome pure one :) Love the silver color, diesel engine (which I sadly don`t have), bull bar, mud flaps, tinted windows ... looks real nice and the silver color won`t get so hot in the Australian red heat :smiley_thumbs_up: Looking forward to see all your mods ... with your kind of passion it souldn`t take long :D

How come the tailpipe is pointed downwards in EuroPats while AusiePats have them bent out horizontaly?

Be careful lifting it, some had had issues, read through the posts here first I would suggest.

The bar looks good, but if you go off road you will want tow hooks, so I hope that's not bolted in where they mount.

Hmm, his tailpipe looks the same as mine??

Oh and PureRiot, the first thing a lot of do is to paint the silver muffler black. Some flat black header paint works well.

lol i took it out this weekend once again, went offroading and also went sand dunes.. the car definately needs to be lifted..

the car has a tow hook for the rear which winds into the rear bar and came in the boot as an extra..

goin through sand the car goes ok but tyre pressure had to be at 10psi max to get any grip *sand was really soft*

goin up a sand dune full flat in 2nd tryin to make it to the top, made it to the top just but then there was no other side to the dune just a huge drop off.. the car went down and as expected the bumper was squished into the nudge bar and the bottom of the intercooler slightly bent upwards... :wow:

will be getting it all looked at and fixed very shortly.. i so wish this car had low gears...

now just waiting for my rro lift kit, and some mud terrains.. looking at getting a custom bull bar made up.. not caring for airbags not deploying, just means i dont have to repack them!!

pics n vids will be posted shortly :)
