Looks Great! Does it obstruct your view out the back window a whole lot or is it tolerable? I also like how it raises the receiver hitch. Great buy!

not really. you can actually see pretty good, even to back up. i was surpirsed.

dont worry about the first pic, its the same as one of the others.

this weekend i will take pics with the tire gate open, and some from behind and the sides, so you can see how its made.

Looks good but I would like the tire mounted a little lower. I have seen many of these tire carriers and always seems they mount the tire too high.
you need to remember, this is a UNIVERSAL tire carrier. they designed it to fit most vehicles, not just the patriot. Also, this was designed to hold up to 40" tires (either 40" or 33" cant remember) so if its lower, where would you relocate the license plate? you could go right, but then you would have cables everywhere. This guys thought about all that. Thats why they are big, and most custom shops will remain small and unknown.

if you put one together, you would see how they thought of a lot of stuff. I was really surprised when i got it, how clever the design was, and the quality of the materials is excellent.

yes, you could go custom and all that but remember, whatever is CUSTOM will most likely stay with your vehicle when you get rid of it. Most things i like to put on my cars are things that i can take off and sell them on ebay when i trade the car in.

I guess a screwdriver is easier than pasting in a black rectangle. I know my dad would do the same, except he's never uploaded a picture in his life - you're ahead of him! ;)

Not to be a pain in the you know what but I think they could make the tire mounting point adjustable for different size tires. I'm kind of picky I guess I like to have full view out the rear. I think at least for the patriot if the tire was mounted maybe 3 or 4 inches lower that would be perfect.

that would be a good idea. But they would have to change the design, and placing of the license plate.

i will post better pics this weekend from every angle. The design could be modified by someone that has the tools to cut metal and weld it. It wouldn't be that difficult.

My comment on visibility is redacted. I think you're right, you can see just fine. My rodeo had the swinging arm, and while there was a little more visibility, this is fine too.

Looks good.

i waited for a car to drive by so you could see what it looks like. that car driving by is about 15'-20' away (give or take 5').

Great Pictures! I would say the rear view isn't obstructed that much and wouldn't make a whole lot of difference. Very well constructed! Looks worth the money indeed.
