OK, here goes.

Have never owned a Jeep.

Have never off roaded.

Have never owned a SUV.

Where can I go in the Carolinas and NOT get lauged at or harrassed by the "BIG JEEPS"

And is anyone from the Carolinas going up to the Camp Jeep 2007?

there aren't very many big places in the carolinas except for at the beach, in the mountains (boone are) and a few places throughout. i'm from winston-salem and the closest place is the Uwharrie national forest. they have different level trails so you don't have to go to the intense ones where people have huge rigs. i really wanted to go to Camp Jeep since it'll be relatively close, but my wife and i will be busy that weekend. hope you enjoy it.

There is a place called tellico. Its out past western carolina university. Its between muphy NC and the TN Border. Great place but plan on spending the whole day out there just to get around to all. From easy trails to very hard ones. Check it out. Look it up on google and goto the website. It has maps of the trails and also ratings for the trails. Although weather conditions can turn some of the easy trails into so of the hardest.

Since I drive a big rig all week long, I only get to play with the Patriot on the weekends. My God, there just aren't enough hours in the day to get enough driving in. I have been able to go ride some dirt roads and sandy areas out in the country between Columbia and Augusta, GA of of I-20, the GPS trail (Bread crumb) setting has come in quite handy in getting back to !-20 and home.

Most Jeep drivers are very friendly and understand what it's like to be new to off-roading. Everyone was a novice at some point.
x2

Every Jeep owner I've meet has been extremely nice and willing to help. About the biggest thing you are going to face is the IFS/IRS issue. But once a TJ owner sees how well the BCTS works on the Paddy they'll change their mind...

I wish there were some trails here... i'm sick of mud and more mud and mud.
