So we are having a nice sized blizzard here in Southern Minnesota and it was my first test of the patriot. It kicked ass actually. It is not quite my old Cherokee or anything but I was busting through 1-2 foot snowdrifts and it was so much fun. Shoveling out the 2-3 foot snowdrifts in my driveway was not. Anyway, I wish I could put some Bridgestone Dueler A/T Revos on this thing like I had on the Cherokee but they don't make them in a 225 size. Anyway, lovin the Patriot so far!

Glad to hear your Riot is a riot. Yes, it is no Cherokee; but it does hold its own just the same. I am actually preferring the Patriot over the Cherokee in all aspects expect power and more serious off-road.

I agree with you there ane also the location of the dome light all the way up front with no light in the center but I have a feeling that may have been an option I neglected to pay for.

The Patriot is stone cold awesome in the snow. It handles predictably and capably when you just want to go. When you want to fling it for some fun, it will do that too.

I've yet to see any better vehicle in the snow, and even then a set of real snow tires on the Patriot would likely come darn close to equaling it. Even then, the only limitation might be ground clearance, but if you have to go plowing through more than a foot of snow all the way to your destination, you may need to rethink your plans.

Here in Quebec we received about 18" of snow this week. My Pat did great in snow and on ice. At my work place, the parking is a steep hill where the exit is at the top. I had absolutely no issue starting in the hill and driving all the way to the top with the 4x4 ON. Some of my coworkers had to get pushed all the way to the top by other people.

I want more snow! :i2:
