My Patriot was a good deal and the right choice for me when I ordered it at the end of March and received it in June, and it's STILL good.

The fact that other people got a different deal (which did not exist at the time I got mine) does not effect the deal I got.

How dumb it would be to spend the whole day pissed off because a little old lady was handing out $100. bills on the street, and she just happened to begin 10 minutes AFTER you walked by. You didn't lose YOUR $100, nor did it cost you $100 in any way! Bless the old lady for her generosity, bless those who received $100, (they probably needed it as much or more than you) and thank the universe that you CAN walk. :smiley_thumbs_up:

This is awesome! For someone like me, who intends to keep a new car for 15-20 years, this is a much better deal than the 10/100K from Hyundai/Kia.
The Hyundai/Kia warranty cant be beat. Lifetime powertrain is great, but the basic warranty is still only 3/36. The Hyundai/Kia basic warranty is 5/60 and it is fully transferrable and includes raodside assistance. The 10/100 powertrain is transferrable to immedaite family members only, good for parents handing down to their kids. Hyundai has been running this warranty unchanged for at least 10 years now, and Kia since 1998. Ive already seen Chrysler start and stop the 7/70 warranty in that time frame and now going back to a long warranty again. This is a great warranty for anyone on the fence, it should certainly give peace of mind, but I think the Koreans still have the best warranty.

Oh and for those who recently bought their Patriots...read the fine print, you CAN still get it, contact your dealer:

*Special 60-Day Pricing for DCSC Lifetime Powertrain Plans expires September 30, 2007.

I wonder what "on the cheap" is... anyone who gets quoted please share. I would like to take advantage of this offer!

Lifetime warranty details

ok so here is the deal. i just got back from my dealership. you have until 60 days from TODAY to purchase the lifetime warranty if you don't have it yet. the cost is $750 within those 60 days. After the 60 days the cost is 1,500 and you can only buy it if your pat is still under its 3/36,000. Here is the catch (according to my dealer) "power train" is only lubricated parts. i.e if my head gasket blew it wouldn't be covered because its not lubricated...same with a circuit/chip in the CVT...

Has anyone looked into what is considered "power train"? please let me know

Why only to US customers and not Canadian. I've asked my rep., but she had no clue what I was talking about, so does not look good so far. Our truck is on order for end of August :O)

Thanks!

I got this information faxed from jeep. As far as I can tell..it is not excluded to only "lubricated parts"

Wear and tear will be covered

Wear and tear is always covered. That's the whole idea of a warranty. Excessive W&T won't be covered like every other warranty out there. For example if you run over a log or rock and snap a drive shaft, that will NOT be covered. On the flip side, if the universal boot splits open and the u-joint gets contaminated with dirt causing the u-joint to fail, that will be covered. The same clause is in the current 3/36 warranty.

That is probably the reason they are insisting on a 5 year inspection as well. They probably don't cover "consumables" either like brake pads, belts or fluids. A good guess would be it will not cover parts of the manual 5-speed clutch as well.

When they say powertrain, that is an industry standard term and it usually means everything that either creates or channels power to the wheel and associated sub systems (like the electronic control modules for the engine and transmission, cooling system, electrical, etc.) They probably also exclude the exhaust for obvius reasons. If there are any exceptions to that term, they have to be expressly listed as exceptions in the contract. As a matter of fact contracts of this type usually have a section labeled "definitions".

For purchasers of the contract, you will most likely receive all this at signing time. Those that get it with a new vehicle will most likely see a seperate book along with their owners manual that has the expressed contract and probably an explanation in layman's terms of what is included or excluded and how it interacts with the 3/36 warranty.

This morning I was watching the TODAY show and I saw a Chrysler commercial touting the lifetime warranty. Boy, they didn't waste anytime. Now I'm wondering if there are a lot of 2007 vehicles sitting on dealer lots, and whether Chrysler is going to drop this warranty once inventory is cleaned up.

My goal is to keep the Jeep as long as it will keep going. I think the longest I've kept a car was oh nevermind it was about 7 years. I know something like this would be good to have if I do plan on keeping it for 5-10-15 years.

OK, I just got back from the dealership. They had no info on the LPW, so I phone customer service from my salesman's desk. Sat on hold for a little while and a rep. answered, I asked how I could get the LPW on my 45 day old Pat/Riot? She went away for a while, came back and told me that my vehicle did not qualify as it had not been delivered yesterday.
Me a little perturbed- OK, let me talk to a Supervisor!
Answer- I am authorized to handle this.
Reply- No, let me talk to a supervisor, I want to escalate this!
Answer- Please hold! I need to check something.
lalalalala(bad music)
Back again- What contact number should we use? blah blah. Ok, someone will contact you on this.

So, right now no LPW on my Pat/Riot. We will see what the next phone call brings.

This makes getting a Chrylser/Jeep product even better. My wife's van came with the 7/70 and I am looking to replace the one in my signature line below. This IS a really nice warranty (or gimmick if you want) but I will take advantage of it here in the future.

Awwww, sorry Jeff. But at least you do have your Pat on hand. I will not get mine until November or December. By the way, your signature is great!

Got the call back from Chrysler central on obtaining the LPW if you purchased your Pat/Riot prior to the 26th.

Plan Code--------------------------------------------Cost

LP100N($100.00 deductible per repair)------------$750.00

LPXN(No deductible)---------------------------------$900.00

These prices are good until September 30th. after this date the cost increases to $1500.00 and $1800.00 respectively.

By buying either of these plans you get much more than what the LPW offers now. According to the rep. that phoned me it includes many features offered on regular extended warranties.(i.e.. towing, loaner car and it can be transfered for $50.00 to list a few) You need to contact your dealership to purchase either of these plans and it sounds pretty good to me.
