Hi all,

I am hoping to get some feedback on the attached pre-authorization form which was sent to Mopar Vehicle Protection. I have over 250k miles on my Patriot Oscar Mike and never wanted to sell it, which is why I have used the warranty so often. Now they have sent me a check and said I can't have my warranty back (because the value of the Patriot is less than cost of repairs).

Upon looking closer, it says labor rate = $339.63 ????

I have no idea how they are coming up with the total of $6,434.08 when the parts and labor appear to not even come close when you read the pre-auth form.

Am I missing something here?

Thank you!

I used to do warranty claims back in the FCA days and I never saw a labor rate submitted that high.

Get in contact with your service department, warranty pay is always(or almost always) pennies on the dollar of standard shop labor rates. Being said, more and more people are going to be getting denied as the value of these vehicles is becoming so low. Sadly which this is called out in the manual. Do not sign anything before fully reviewing the documents and ensuring that you are not waiving your rights/ nulling the contract.

Good Luck! My 2015 has been in for repairs more often than on the road lately. Every time it takes days for the Approval. New suspension parts, Wheel bearings and a throttle body later and the tranny is now slipping. If it weren't for the warranty I would have traded mine in. I don't know if that will be more than the value of the vehicle or not.

I see $2191 in parts. Then later they say $2730. Not sure what the extra $550 is.
Parts prices seem inline for dealer.

$340/hr does sound high. They should be a second page with additional labor, the pic only shows axle, 2 control arms and 2 shocks, like 3.5hrs for $1052. Add wheel alignment.
Somehow that jumps to $3800?

That said, I'd try a local mechanic if you can't do it yourself. ~4hr labor and $350 in parts.
$70 MOOG control arms, could go cheaper.
$100 Monroe quick struts (covers every thing they are replacing and more)
