Hello Jeepsters

I've been looking for some vehicle maintenance logs to record my oil changes and maintenance intervals. I googled a great excel based maintenance guide which allows you to change the mileage intervals and the maintenance tasks. Since I'm a noob here I would like to request how to upload the excel file to your reference database. I know you have rules about that so I dare not attempt. The link for this file is located here: http://sosayssunny.com/ if you would like to try to download and try it out. The site only requests that you keep the original format if you share. So far this tool works somewhat decent.

Any other type of maintenance log programs or docs out there in Jeepland?

Respects

That's right SPD, you can probably create your own Excel-based log that includes stuff that off-the-peg ones don't have, such as cost of the oil / fluids used each time and where you got them. It's easy to forget how much you paid for something after ten thousand miles or so, but if it's all there in black and white....

Rocal

i personally would never keep my vehicle log in just 1 form. i would keep a written version and scan it into the computer once every checkup or oil change etc.

if you lose that sheet, or your hard drive crashes...then you have a backup

Soon enough we can buy a 1gig thumbdrive ($10.99) that you can keep these e-records in your glovebox. Why I bet that this Jeep forum can produce some with the website logo to help support this forum. The key here now is to maintain good maintenance records so we can validate our lifetime power train warranties without having to have service by the dealers. We could record the complete history of a car including scanned paperwork on a 1G flash drive. Later we can install the diagnostic software on this same drive:D

I've got my own I use, color coded and keeps track of total time owned, average MPG, maintenance interval, and cost per day. Anyone who wants, PM me your e-mail and I'll send it to you. It's an excel file.

Just a thought.

What happens if you keep the patriot for 30 years? Computers, drives, and files are going to be completely different. Your best bet is to have multiple forms like jgg204 said.

That way, at least 1 of them can be converted for future technology.

In 30 years I bet my fingers will be so arthritic that I will not be able to type... but maybe computers will talk and listen like in Star Trek!

in 30 years i am going to be married with 3 kids and depending on when future wife pops out the first one, i could also have a grandkid...

holy crap, i think my heart just skipped a beat and i almost vomited LOL
