I don't remember the brand of front axle I got, but I got it at Advance Auto Parts for less than the price + shipping from RockAuto. As far as I know, nothing else needs to be replaced in conjunction with the axle. I took everything apart to replace it, but then couldn't get the axle to come free from the trans. Tried for over an hour. Got so frustrated at it that I put it all back together and took it to a shop.

I’ll make sure to blast some heavy metal over the speakers while I work because loud music =more strength. Or maybe make some leverage contraption. I’ll also be replacing the control arm in conjunction because it’s making way too much noise for comfort.

Maybe I should have tried some heavy metal!!! I was torquing on mine with a 3 foor pry bar before I gave up... hopefully you'll have better luck!

When I was replaced my first control arm, I put a jack under the pickle fork to leverage it. After every couple of pumps, I would use a hammer to bang the fork back into place. It went surprisingly smooth. If I come up with anything crafty, I'll make sure to post a picture.

I've done 2 control arms. Surprisingly easy.
