Yeah I was wondering that as well for 250.00 install + 40.00 for alignment a bit spendy but peace of mind and possibly warrenty still intact and install warrenty makes for a hard decsion not to have it installed professionally. The dealership I got mine from actually sold a brand new one off the floor with the rro lift installed by this offroad place I am thinknig of taking mine to, so that leads me towrds getting it installed as well.

My feeling is that having a professional shop do it takes the pressure off if there is any question about warrantee.
I know my mechanic had a hell of a time with the rear alignment, specifiaclly camber. It took a full day to get the alignment right. Everyone I talked to, includding RRO, said that the design of the Patriot for camber adjustment is a total pain.
I was glad to have them do the whole thing.

Well the decision is yours. If you have the money and want to spend it on getting it installed by so called proffessionals that have probably only put one of these lifts on then go for it :) Hey so I guess that makes me a proffessional now too! How about you take a road trip to Colorado and I'll put it on for you for $100 haha. But they won't cover any of jeeps warranty, they will only cover what they did to the jeep. Which would be just be the labor of install.

Good point, well all that is left is to buy the darn thing and install it. I think I will probably end up doing it myself to save the 250.00 being I did not want to spend 600.00 on the lift and installation. 330.00 for the lift or so plus 40-60for the alignment is much better. Oh btw if i lived closer I would actually take u up on the 100.00 offer. My Mom used to live in Brighton, CO but moved back last year. Thanks again guys

Ok well good luck with whatever you do. And if you do change your mind and what to come out to Colorado let me know. So if I put on two lifts would that make me an expert? haha

OK fellas I definitely want to do this mod I took my Pat out on a camping trip with 36 miles on it and quickly found out that there is NO GROUND clearance. I think my Subaru imprezza had more...lol. No to be fair I traded a 1987 GMC full size Jimmy with 4" Lift and 33" tires so I might have been spoiled but I did not get crazy with the Pat and even small rocks seemed to hit the frame rails. No I did like getting 22 MPG over the 8 I used to get in the GMC. I am curious if there has been any noticeable MPG loss with the RR 2" lift? That is the only thing keeping me from doing the mod. I drive 50+ miles a day for work and the MPG is a consideration especially if gas prices go back up with it looks like they are.

With all of you doing this, and it being something I want to do as well (for the clearance, and maybe make it easier to put chains on in the winter) what would you all say is the best lift kit to get? I would probably have someone else do this for me. I probably could myself, but have too many other things going on to have the time for this.

Thanks!

I noticed a few guys adding skid plates....are these being added to the FD2 setup?

I will be lifted after I get my rig here. I am taking off my lift on my F150 and selling it.

FDII should come with skid plates, I think? Mine did. I want to add the lift though, once I can afford it.

I also want a nice brush guard for the front. I actually drive through a lot of brush. The weeds are no issue, but the honeysuckle and tree branches can be a problem.

Would be nice if the brush guard could also mount a winch.

really Hey!...brush guards would be great...also for mounting lights.

Yeah, i didn't know if it was aftermarket skid plates. I am selling the lift off my F150 to offset the cost of the ORR lift. wish an off road company spent some time on the pat, shocks would be great...

Will H, do you have anymore pics with the 225/70/17's? and have you had any problems with them since you put them on? rubbing etc...? Thanks!
I'm also interested in some pics of the 225/70/17 tires, i'm looking for something to mildy agressive to put on the stock 17" rims.
