Hey everyone! I've been looking into upgrading my '15 with the 130 radio to an aftermarket Pioneer. I've been speaking to some advisors on Crutchfield and the most recent one I talked to added this 80 dollar Sirius XM tuner to my cart...none of the other people I've talked to have mentioned anything about a tuner. My Jeep already has Sirius with a factory antenna and everything, but all of a sudden, now Crutchfield is telling me I need this tuner and I also need to run a new antenna. Just wondering if anyone has upgraded to a new radio but retained their Sirius without running new wires (seems pointless to me if there are already wires there for that purpose). I can understand if there are different connectors or something along that line, but I really don't want to buy all this extra equipment if I don't actually need it (it's going to be an expensive little project as is). Just wondering if anyone has any experience with this! Thanks in advance!

Sweet, thanks! Wish my Crutchfield "advisor" would've mentioned that...

I also only have Sirius and the guy kept mentioning Sirius XM...I think my issue is that my Jeep is currently only Sirius-ready and the aftermarket is Sirius XM. Should be interesting to see what happens.

It won't be a problem, the antenna connections are the same. When they send the activation signal that will determine which channels you receive. You will have to contact Sirius to give them the new ID for the tuner.

Also the tuner can be had for closer to $40 most elsewhere. Shop around for that. SXV300. And use that Sat1 for antenna and you are all set. Just a heads up too, wrap a zip tie around tuner and antenna adapter to eliminate any " no antenna " issues. That's an official fix they say.

Did it today and it worked flawlessly! Thanks! I used electrical tape to keep the antenna adapter plugged in to the tuner. It didn't seem very secure...They are doing a special right now where the tuner is free if you buy a subscription so I didn't mind buying it from Crutchfield. Just weird the guy was adamant that I would have to rewire another antenna. I'm glad I second guessed that!!! Thanks for the advice!
