Can anyone tell me if will the Mopar header fit the 2.4 ive only heard it saying it fits the 1.8 or 2.0, arent all of those engines pretty much the same?

The 2.4 Header has part of the Cat system built into it , so it is not compatible with the 1.8 or 2 litre. This means you are unable to fit a free-flow sports header without compromising emissions !!

I thought that was only on 4wds?, I will look tho

must be where the the direction of the primaries are pointed or something cause, its not the one with the built in cat, looks the same to me but idk

Many different website are selling exclusive to the 2x4 patriot, so you got to call them and ask them if it fits the patriot (try not to say the 2.4) and make them guarantee it (if they don't work return them tell them they guaranteed them) After that try them. But i bet if they work you would need to put a new cat back system into it. Or just ignore emissions like i do. Here in PR they don't enforce that law.

BTW i am checking into putting a nitrous system into my patriot, but i am so scared of braking that damn CVT!! I was going to run it with 50 shots. I think i will do it, if it brakes ill take it to warranty and eliminate the NOS system.

now with the cvt being the weak link is it really the HP that'll cause damage, or is it the torque? I was talking to a buddy about doing this and he said that 20hp shouldnt really be a problem as much as torque. But he said if it is a problem as long as your not launching the car all the time you should be ok. or am I missing something about the CVT here?

After racing my Pat at the track (I have the CVT) I'm willing to bet even with a 50 shot of giggle juice the transmission won't be blowing up. Its going to limit itself through the computer so it doesn't self destruct. When I was at the track it launched great but then basically sat there deciding what to do then took off, I think its heavily limited by the computer and not much else.

Of course these are my totally unscientific opinions. I also read somewhere that the max hp on these cvt's is around 185"ish hp, I think I got that off a caliber forum.

But if you do decide to juice the patriot, take it to the track and get some results.

The power gains with Header, Exhaust and Intake are around 10hp total. So each of those parts alone are only worth a few ponies. Certainly not going to hurt the vehicle at all with another 10hp

This isn't an old inefficient V8, its a very modern 4cyl with alot of trick already up its sleeves, it wont be easy or cheap to extract much more power....
