I have a question about the Stereo system in the patriots.

I have a 2009 North Edition Jeep patriot. It says that my Stereo is a

"Radio: AM/FM CD/ MP3"

Put it wont play any of my MP3 discs.

Does anybody have any insights? Do they means it can play MP3's, but only from the aux jack?

thanks

What model stereo you have? (look at the face and you should see a 3 lettered word on the bottom right hand side - REQ for example)

i could be wrong, but i believe the "mp3" refers to the MP3 jack...

There are 3 options for the Patriot Stereo:

Radio: AM/FM CD MP3 INCLUDED
RADIO: AM/FM 6 DISC DVD MP3 $475
RADIO: AM/FM/CD/DVD/HDD/MP3 $750

I was under the assumption that the standard player plays mp3's....

Mabye I am not burning them right or somthing or mabye it only reads certain cd's?

are you actually burning MP3 files onto the CD...or are you use some sort of proprietary format like M4a or WMA format? the Patriot's stereo may only be able to play .mp3's ...and not M4a, WMA, etc.

Thats a good point, and I am pretty sure I am burning .mp3 format, but I will double check, thanks
if you are using iTunes...be careful. iTunes default settings likes to convert things to AAC, and this may apply to burning the CD as well.

there is an option in iTunes that allows you to use .mp3 , or else it will use AAC or MP4 for protected songs i believe
