Hey Now........
Hows everyone doing?
I got a 15 patriot high altitude..
I had to drain trans , and didn't save fluid...Duh
Does anyone know fluid capacity and fluid type?
I hear its a sealed for life trans..The pan is on the front side .
It has a fill plug half way up.
Any help would be nice..

Thanks

Jatco CVT or Powertech 6 speed??

My 2014 service manual shows for the CVT: fluid drain/filter change - 14.8 pints +/-. Total fill 17 pints. Fluid is CVTF+4

Powertech 6 speed: Factory fill - 7.5 quarts. Drain and fill: 5 quarts +/- In the fill procedure they recommend adding about 4.3 quarts, then adjust by doing the fluid level check procedure. Fluid is SP 4M.

Both trannies recommend a specific fluid level adjustment procedure because you're not quite sure how much is drained, left in the torque converter, etc.. There's lots of Google links and Youtube videos showing the drain and fill procedure on other brands that have the 6 speed tranny. I'm not up on the CVT.

The manual uses ATF+4 and there is no description of fill capacity.
