I have not seen many Patriots with leather seats when visiting the dealers. Why is this? I have found a few limited I like with leather (and the higher price tag). However, I have 2 dogs so I am wondering if the price of leather will be worth it. I currently own a Mercury Mountaineer with leather seats which I will be trading in on this cash to clunker deal. I am leaning towards vynil with some after market seat covers. My current SUV had better quality leather though. Not so soft as these and it aged really well. The dogs also have much more room in the back with my current SUV. TIA!

Well, I absolutely love my ltd's leather seats! And so does the dog! No problems, although I do rub them down with mink oil (or some other leather preservative..whichever is handy..). I only wish the floor mats cleaned up as easily!

I think you'll be pleased with leather--yes, it's not as fancy as some other cars--but remember--this is a JEEP! All my country friends chastise me for getting leather in a jeep. We live in an extreme hot environment and only once did I wish I had cloth!

The brain trust at Chrysler really seemed to want to push the Sport or D level trim. Nothing wrong with that setup, I think they were aiming for a price point. Although even equipping a Pat with your options leaves it in a reasonable price spot.

I have the leather and I am enjoying them. I have had zero problems with the leather. I bought the showroom model so I pretty much had no choice mind you. No regrets.

That is one of the few things i REALLY wish i had in my sport, but I also am not particularly happy with the level of support the seats provide, either. I wonder what aftermarket seats would fit in the Patriot without issue?

my sport has leather:) I got them to do leather interior if I agreed to buy it. Im sure I paid for it somehow though lol. Try to get them to do it or have it done aftermarket.

I really like my leather seats, but most of it is probably vinyl. They clean up great and are dog friendly. I also quit using the carpet mats and use my mopar slush mats all season. They clean up great with a soft brush and Westley's white wall cleaner. The removable floor in the cargo area gets the same treatment. I bought this Jeep for the "dirty" jobs - not sure what the auto mag reviewers were thinking when they criticized the interior - they are morons.

I am with you BarryB. My Jeep has scratches and bangs because I really do use my Patriot for ALL tasks. I believe (in the case of my colour scheme) that only the gray parts are leather. The black parts are vinyl.

Just bought a 2009 Patriot Limited 4x2 with the dark grey Leather interior. I noticed on the sticker after getting it home that it is actually called "Leather trimmed". The disclaimer is that only the seating surfaces are Leather. Everything else is a very nice leather-looking vinyl (sides and backs of seats). Will have to see how it holds up. We really wanted the cloth interior, but with the Clunker deal going on and dealer inventories depleated to extremely low levels - this was the only vehicle that had the options we wanted. I was not originally looking at the Jeeps, but the pricing swayed me. So far I have been impressed.

I have leather on my Limited, and I really like it, its very comfortable and very easy to keep clean - God send when you have 2 football mad kids!

It was one of the things that made me choose the Ltd over the sport as I much prefered the look and feel of the interior.. but its all down to personal preferance... some may not like it at all.

18 months and 10,000 miles and the leather has held up well so far! The heated seats are great for cold days and if you have a backache!

I did buy my patriot. Thanks for the responses for some reason I was not getting the notifications. I had no choice but to go with clothe. There was no leather availible and very few of them left as it was. So I would like to find some after market seat covers to help keep them clean. Any suggestions? I have the black Pat with the gray interior. I bought the sport 26E package with the sun and fun package.

Neither. :D
I love my vinyl. Looks & feels like leather. Wears like indestructible plastic. No cracking no maintenance. :smiley_thumbs_up:

For those of you who've had Leather interior for awhile, what is your favorite product to use when cleaning the seats? Also Jack, how often do you use the mink oil on your seats? Thanks.
Weekly--just a quick rub to condition the leather and wipe away the "hair of the dog"!
