Hello! Can anyone help a newbie out? I'm wondering what is the largest size offroad tire that would fit on the stock 16" steel rims without rubbing on any part of the wheel well on a 2015 Patriot. Thanks.

I tried that, but it seems everyone has different opnions. I'm wanting 235/65s offroad tires on and just wondering if I would just be safer going to 225s. Thanks.

My 225/65 street tires cause no problem. 235 is only about a half inch greater in diameter and slightly wider. I think you could safely buy the tire you want in either of those sizes. You'll have to decide if the trade-offs make the size increase worthwhile. I've seen the Firestone Winterforce tire on a few Patriots off road, but I imagine they would wear out more quickly and be more vulnerable to off road hazards.

the problem is, despite being labeled the same size, not all tires are physically the same size. So it depends on the tires you're buying, if your suspension is sagging at all. etc. too many variables.
