I'm researching a 2016 Patriot 4X4 purchase and have a bunch a questions:

1) On the Jeep website the build & price for the Sport "Trailer Tow Prep Group by Mopar®" package only mentions "Class II Receiver Hitch" but no oil cooler. The Latitude offers two tow packages, "Trailer Tow Prep Group by Mopar® (Class II Receiver Hitch)" and "Trailer Tow Prep Group (Engine Oil Cooler, Full Size Spare Tire, Trailer Tow Wiring Harness)". I'm confused.

2) Is the "Full Size Spare Tire" stowed in the same location as the compact version? Compact spare photos make me concerned the full size won't fit there.

3) Which packages and options are dealer installed and which are factory installed?

4) If I get the 17" wheels, will putting on 16" snow tires/wheels/TP sensors cause TPMS problems?

5) Can a dealer add OEM tow hooks?

Thanks!

Some packages come with the oil cooler and wiring harness already so they are not needed, some do not, so it depends on what packages you are choosing. Like the FDII package comes with the oil cooler, full sized spare, and wire harness already, so you just need to add the receiver.

The hole is big enough, they just put padding around it so it doesn't rattle around, If you get a doughnut spare and want to upgrade to a full sized, its totally possible to do, with some slight modification.

3) Which packages and options are dealer installed and which are factory installed?

I THINK the two hitch is dealer installed, (I might be wrong about that though) but other than that, anything on the website is factory installed. at least when I got my FDII that comes with the wiring harness for the trailer it was just loose in the spare wheel well. I figure if it was factory, it would have been installed.

4) If I get the 17" wheels, will putting on 16" snow tires/wheels/TP sensors cause TPMS problems?

Not at all. The TPMS is just looking for a sensor there are only a few kinds, a tire shop should be able to tell you what kind you should get. You can go down to a specific set of 15" tires, so a 16" should not be an issue at all, especially if you can find some facotry 16" wheel laying around. Wheels are a common upgrade, so I'm sure you will find lots on ebay/craigslist cheap, or even the dealer.

5) Can a dealer add OEM tow hooks?

Yes, most people do it themselves, or take it to a shop that charges a lot less per hour in labor.

Be careful though, when I picked mine up, and my dad asked the dealer if it had a full-size spare tire, they said "full size, temporary use". It's a donut. Only two spares available as far as I know are the donut(195-something-16) for most packages and the 215-65-17 Wrangler SR-A for FD2 and all-weather.
