Double Island Point

So we got back from our 5 nights away at Double Island Point - it was awesome!

It rained heavily for 2 days before we got there so for the first couple of days it was hard comact sand making life easy.

The last 3 days it softened up a lot, making life difficult for those towing camper trailers, caravans and jet skis. I should note that the patriot did not get stuck once! Which was awesome, did see a few Subaru foresters stuck in the soft stuff though =P

Any driving we did was based on the tides as we wouldn't really have been able to drive anywhere if the tide was up. The cuttings were the only real issues and the sand up high off the tide line.

Saw another patriot up there which was cool also :)

Gordon Country

Went camping last week for my bday with the Mrs.

Decided we would go out bush for a few days out to Gordon Country, about 2.5hrs out of Brisbane, south-west toward Warwick.

Had a great time, nice and green out there due to recent rain, even copped a couple of storms whilst out there. Good to see the bush nice and green for w change :)

Thought I'd share a couple of pics.

Yeah we try and mix it up as best we can :)

Thanks! Definitely no pro behind the camera - all our pics are just on our phones, although I have to say, they're a better resolution photo on our phones as opposed to when they're uploaded :(

Thanks very much jhill - big 28 haha, feeling old hahaha.

Bribie Island

Thanks d1!!! ^^^

Had the Easter break so it was off for a day up at Bribie Island, about one hour drive north of Brisbane. I think a couple of the older members of the forum used to talk about going up there (don't think they're on here anymore).

Great day out, weather was perfect, surf was great and water was a perfect temp - 10/10 day!

Couple of pics from the day with the Mrs and some friends.

Heading away for the night to try out my new awning and swag set up this afternoon, just an overnighter whilst the Mrs is out with her friends.

One of the other blokes whose Mrs is going to this girls night is coming with me and my dog Jethro.

Will be a nice warm day at 36 degrees / 96-97 degrees Fahrenheit if I were in the U.S.

Nothing a good fire won't fix, just gotta dodge the snakes, spiders and drop bears.

1770 Camping trip

So me and the Mrs took a couple of weeks off and headed up about 6hrs drive north of Brisbane to 1770 to camp.

Seeing as the Mrs wanted most of the "creature comforts" everything except for the kitchen sink was needed. - if I had my way it would have been the swag and an esky full of beer, but the things we do right....

Thought I'd share a few pics of the Jeep and the camp sight.

Avg temp was about 34 degrees celsius, a lot of beer was drunk and a lot of fishing and paddle boarding was done too!
The Jeep carried the two paddle boards on the roof and towed the trailer filled with 2 x 110ltr eskys, tent, gazebo and everything else you can see in the picture along with enough firewood for 4 nights worth of fires.

Was a great place, will probably be back there one day :)

Bribie Island - Easter weekend

Took the Jeep for a run along Bribie Island on the weekend with a couple of mates and their Nissan Navaras.

Just a day trip and opened shop near one of the lakes so the friends kids could have a swim without getting dumped in the surf. Was a great day :)
