Hey guys,

I'll be updating this thread with any cool places/things we have seen and done with our Patriot.

I'm typing this as I am on the bus to work, so here goes.

The weekend just gone we went to Neurem Creek camp grounds in the State Forrest. About 1.5hrs drive North-West of Brisbane.

Just a cheeky overnighter. We had upgraded some camp gear and we needed to check it was all working, etc. So what better way than to test it out.

Neurem campsite was great, we did glamp it as they have flushing toilets there.

Anyways, there were some great 4x4 tracks and the scenery there was awesome.

It did rain overnight, so it did make for a bit of a busy day yesterday, unpacking and drying!

Pics to come! :)

A couple of small water crossings. These filled up higher once it rained, but for some reason the Mrs wasn't as keen to get out and take photos at that point. =P

Home time, 25kg 10 man tent and a 3m x 3m gazebo (about 15kgs) on the racks.

Did fine over the bumpy stuff, just checked the tie downs before we hit the black top. Didn't want it flying off whilst going 100km/hr on the highway.

Thanks mate.

Nothing better than camping.

We will be heading up to Double Island Point in about a months time. It'll be interesting to see how we go getting through the soft cut in's with the amount of weight that will be in the back. - might have to get the maxtraxs out =P

Bribie Island

Weekend just gone, the Mrs had some family come up from chilly Melbourne and they wanted to go to the beach for the day. So we headed out with them and my out-laws (theyre actually great) and we took the drive 40 minute north from Brisbane to Bribie Island.

Beach and was great, a few deep ruts, but the 2" lift makes the world of difference.

Sand was soft and once the tide came in we were travelling about 15kms in really soft stuff, which made the Jeeps engine temps climb. But none the less, made it through.

Went with 2 landcruisers, 18psi for tyres, esp off and 4x4 engaged.

Happy days!

Bit of fun muckin' round in the sand :hammertime:

Was great, no matter how soft it was the jeep would just kick it n' rip it hahaha

I have some alright video too, but I'm not sure how I would upload it on here.

:smiley_thumbs_up:Thought I might throw one up that doesn't make it look like I was just hooning around.

My mother-in-law is also an avid photographer and she said she took some good pics of the Jeep in action, so I will see if she can send some through to upload :)

Duck Creek Road

Took the Jeep out with the Mrs and the out-laws to Duck Creek Road.

About 1.5hr drive south of Brisbane to the Gold Coast Hinterland.

Beautiful scenery, track is rated as easy, but has a few side tracks that range from easy to very hard.

Took a few pics, but not very many today.

Officially a week tomorrow from now I will be heading up camping at Double Island Point about 2-3hrs north of Brisbane for a week with the Mrs and some friends :)

What I don't want to happen to the Patriot.

"Mudlo" at DIP is notorious for eating unwary vehicles crossing at unfavorable tides, and also for the freak waves that crash on shore!

Will be sure to upload pics! :pepper:

Tomorrow is the day, off to Double Island for nearly a week of beach camping!

Car is virtually packed, just have to pack the 104litre esky and strap the paddle boards to the roof. She is packed full with the rear seats down.

Glad I got the stu coils - with probably close to 200-250kgs of gear in the rear the suspension has barely sagged, if noticeable at all.

I think I will need every inch of that lift for the cuttings.

Hoping the sand isn't too soft coming off the barge, will make sure I get some shots :)
