Hello everyone,
I just traded my Nissan Frontier crewcab XE last Saturday (6/9/07) for a Kahki Patriot sport 4X4 FDII w/ crawl ratio. I'm already saving money on gas!! and what a great JEEP. The wife & family all love it.

This is my first JEEP but back in the 70's my Uncle had a CJ10 (I think thats right) pick up and my oldest brother bought one in the early 80's. I'm a big AMC fan having owned a 69 AMX, 72 Javelin SST, 73 Javelin AMX, and Currently a 70 Javelin W/ 360 cid. restoration project in my garage (the JEEP stays outside).

This forum was very helpful in researching the Patriot. Especially the Expiditions West review!! Thanks for the great info. I hope I can help out as well.

Congratulations on your Patriot!

Looks like you have good taste in cars. When I was 12 my father had a Javelin; I think it was a '73. God I loved that car! I think it was the first non-Mopar that I really, truly loved. I still think the Javelin is best muscle-car of that era.

Thanks Rottenbob,
I couldn't agree with you more!!! Even though the Patriot is ALL DC parts/engineering its soul is pure AMC!! Just looking at it reminds me of the old school AMC Cherokee. These things are gonna sell like hot cakes!!

Congrats AMCNut! Were you at the AMC National Show in N. Georgia in 2005?

Sigh - There were about 50 Javelins and AMXs in various stages of perfect. There were 3 Rebel Machines. About a dozen Metropolitans. One of these days I'll pick up a 67-68 Ambassador or Rebel. They were one of the most stout cars of the period with superior bodies and good basic engineering.

Bobbyt My taste would be towards Speed Channel. Not really interested in a Quinn Martin Production with Martin Milner and Kent McCord reading bad scripts. I honestly don't have the time or inclination to watch. I would much rather drive. There are so many car shows around here this time of year I could book one weekend day and one weekday night at a show. I can see a real Plymouth Satellite rather than look at one on a screen. Besides, until they can figure out how to transmit the smell and feel of a classic car I wouldn't be interested in just being an observer.

Fyi went to the GoodGuys show and swap meet at Atlanta Motor Speedway today. They had a 68 Satellite in good condition for sale if you want. A little black and white paint, a bubble top on the roof, and a spotlight and you could be in business so to speak :D

Didn't enter my ragtop but lots of nice customs and classics from T-buckets all the way to NASCAR's finest. My taste is for 34-37, 39-40 Fords. In particular there was a nice black 36 Ford club convertible tastefully customized that caught my eye but not in my budget. That Foose Dodge Challenger they are giving away is vvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrrrrrrrrryyyyyyyyyyyyy nice as well. It has got a Hemi all right.
