Ordered the 09 Ltd in late March, got a dealer update today that the Patriot is in E status, (it is being framed) after the frame is done it will go to body and paint (the paint takes a week to cure), then trim, inspection, final inspection and finally shipping. This whole process will take another 2 - 3 weeks. Likely making delivery date sometime in early June?
Any members with factory order experience or general knowledge to confirm if the dealer info is correct? Thanks

You got it! Once i get the scheduled delivery date, i will start a count down with a party to follow when it arrives.

Well then, it sounds like the Belvidere plant is no longer idle. Glad to hear they are building Patriots again.
so am i, but due to union contracts if a plant goes idle...they get paid full hourly wages and salaries so i don't feel too bad for the workers.

what i do feel bad about is the lack in job security and the fact they know they are building vehicles that are just going to be banked into inventory. that couldn't be very motivating in the very least...

You know... I find it sort of nice that yu can follow the assembly of your vehicle. I wish I could have done that. Unfortunately there are times when you simply need to react and buy a vehicle (as was my case).

There is a thread that has a phone number that you can call Chrysler and they'll give you the stage and how much longerit should take. You may also be able to go to the Jeep sight and under the "contact us" there may be a number to get the number you need.
The wait is the hardest part.

Imagine if they had live feeds on the assembly of your car???
That is totally possible with todays tech, but it will be something for the 22nd century for us here in North America. I know VW in Europe their factory that built the Phaeton, the owner can go in & watch the final stages & drive off when done.

Nice... And yes, it would be possible but maybe somewhat costly.

Ordered mine in mid-April 08 got it mid-June 08. Normal delay for my region 6 to 8 weeks.
The advantage = built to my specifications. :D You will get insentives or rebates not for the month you ordered but for the month it is delivered. I got 2250$ rebate from Chrysler in june 2008. That was great! PLus carpets, mud guards and additional 300$ from dealer and the canadian Mopar 50$ worth of equipment. Also the canadian program eco-auto for low fuel consumption (Patriot 4X4 manual) = 1000$ cash. Program no longer exist.

Guess I made a good deal

That's a hack of a deal! I doubt if the current offers will be as generous.

so what's the countdown at now? :smiley_thumbs_up:
Still the same info from Saturday. "Framing" stage, after that another 2-3 weeks before shipping? I will start the count down after "Final Inspection"
& a confirmed date for shipping out west. Right now I am shopping for accessories on the internet, so when it arrives, I have all the birthday presents ready to install.

A "frame" on a MK? Huh.......and here I thought it was a 'unibody construction' platform. :icon_rolleyes:

Takes almost as much time as a Ferrari I believe!

The latest from CNN claims that Chrysler will close all factory until their Fiat merger is complete? Guess i will not be getting my Patriot until Next June?

"Jobs safe for now, but plants will close temporarily
While an administration official promised there will be no immediate job cuts for the company's 39,000 employees or plant closings, Chrysler announced that most manufacturing operations will be temporarily shut down on Monday, May 4. Normal production is not due to resume until the transaction with Fiat is completed."
