Hey out there. So my husband and I just ordered a 2008 Limited 4X2. Nothing is set in stone yet and I'm really tempted to change our order to a 4x4. Right now we're in Belgium where it doesn't snow much, but we could get stationed in Colorado or upstate NY when we leave from here. I'm from CO and UT and never had a prob with FWD but still....any thoughts? :D

Welcome and congrats! You will get about 2/3's saying get a 4x4 cause its a Jeep and 1/3 saying a 4x2 is fine. Depends what you are doing though. Also did you go with a CVT or 5 spd? If you are going on some of the great trails in both upstate NY or Colorado (don't know about Utah) may want to consider a 4x4. If you are REALLY going on the trails may want to look at the trail rated. For snow well you need to look at what you are driving through versus waiting out. It is still 75+% driver that will get you through.

Hello!! If you know your going to be moving to those two state and if you know your going to be in snow and even going off road, I'd go for the 4x4. I went for the 4x2 just because for me it's pratical. Never too late to change your mind....

I'm guessing Upstate NY like Watertown / Fort Drum?

When i ordered, i definantly weant with 4x4. My last 2 vehicles where Subaru's and i've always sworn that as long as i love in Syracuse, i'll never own another 4x2.

Yea, if you'll be at Ft. Drum go with 4x4! That area gets a lot of the nasty lake effect that comes off the east end of Lake Ontario.
I'm originally from the other end of the lake that doens't get it so bad, but its still no picnic there either!
I now live in Ohio and the reason I went for 4x4, is because they do such a lousy job of plowing the roads here, even though they get significantly less snow!
