i have been thinking of getting a mopar air deflector for the front, i was wodnering is it possible to paint them to match the silver color of the jeep. and if were to get it painted, would the paint even stick to it. want a air deflector because ive had windsheilds changed numerous times.

1 windshield for the 07 Patriot
1 windsheild for the 07 Altima
2 windsheilds and 1 rear windsheild for the 03 Caravan
2 windsheilds for the 97 Cavelier

need an air deflector badly.

Anything can be painted... if you throw enough money at it.

I know several people who've purchased clear deflectors and had the undersides painted to match. They looked really good.

The Mopar air deflector is made of a smoked plexiglass so it would have to be painted on both sides.

I am sure it could be painted, however after a couple rock chips it may not look so good. May not be worth the effort. Although it does not prevent every rock/insect from hitting your windshield it does help.

thanks, i just need as much glass protection as i can possibily have, how much is it though in canada for the deflector

I paid $133.28 + GST.

The Mopar part number is: 82210417AB

The installation took about an hour, however I really took my time with the drilling and put adhesive in the holes prior to screwing in to prevent rust.

It is very sturdy and looks great.

the patriot bug deflector requires you to drill into the hood? the caliber one isn't like that at all, its basically just 4 clamps...install time for me was 15 minutes

Save your money, don't buy dealer

Wow!! Save some money!! Autoventshade makes all of the deflectors for Mopar. I just ordered the side window deflectors from Van and Truck World in Hamilton ( they have other locations in Ont. as well ) The price on these were 69.00 versus 103.00 at the dealer. I have to pick them up on Friday, and I will find out how much the front one is, cause I want one of those as well. In regards to install, the holes are drilled UNDER the hood, all you have to do is use a stop-collar for your drill and set it to 1/8 inch. It's easy, I did one on my '03 Caravan ( which I don't miss at all ),,,I'll post the price on Fri..Craigman

Yes, you will need to drill 4 small holes in the underside of the hood. It is quite easy, the deflector is made to stay on.

The Jeep/Mopar deflector has Jeep embossed on it, however if you can get one from Autoventshade and it is of the same design quality I would say go for it !

Got the price

Stopped at Van and Truck World to get my ventshades today...they look great! The price of the front air deflector is $ 64.95. It is the same one that is used by mopar...so if you can find a store that is within your area, I strongly advise you get it there, and save some money for the summertime detailing stuff that we all need!! Cheers, Craigman

thanks, van and truck world sells detailing products to, might just have to check it out lol

Does Autoventshade ships item? I'm in Quebec and the price you said sounds good to me!

Here is what I posted in another thread.

Here is the bug deflector I just installed. It's from Auto Ventshade and I got it on Amazon.com for about $53.00. It list it as a model for the "07" and "08" Patriot, but the Auto Ventshade website lists the same model for an "09". I installed with just the sticky pades for now but I think I'll drill the holes and use the mounting screws.
