MS-6395. Use Synthetic only.

Hello Igorok,

Very fine question indeed.
MS-6395 is a Chrysler North American spec. for engine oil.
Outside North America-let say in Russia you can use any Synthetic 5W-30 engine oil which meets ACEA A3 or A5. If you would like the best protection for the Russian climate:
Mobil 1 0W-40 is the best choice.
I hope this answers your question.

I beg to differ, MS stands for Military specification, not Chrysler specs,
Not sure how you came up with that one.
MS stands for Material Standard.
The "H" appears to be for meeting extended drain High Performance oil....from Amsoil Web, as this is the only one I could find that lists meeting the spec.
Or it could be the Euro standard for meeting the high temp vaporisation spec?

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W40 Motor Oil provides superior protection and performance in the most severe automotive driving conditions. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W40 Motor Oil provides a wide range of protection in all four-cycle gasoline and diesel engines, including pickups, RVs, cars and off-highway vehicles. It is recommended for use in vehicles subject to stop-and-go driving, short trips, high temperatures, frequent trailer pulling and off-road use.

RESISTS HIGH TEMPERATURE VAPORIZATION
Conventional motor oils tend to "boil off" in high temperatures, losing up to 25 percent of their original weight. These vaporized oils circulate poorly, reduce fuel efficiency and contribute to excessive emissions and engine wear. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W40 Motor Oil resists vaporization. In fact, according to the NOACK Volatility Test, which measures the weight loss of an oil due to evaporation, AMSOIL High Performance 10W40 only loses 7.0 percent of its weight in high temperature service, surpassing rigorous European standards set at 13 percent weight loss in high temperature testing. The superior vaporization resistance of AMSOIL High Performance 10W40 keeps engine wear, oil consumption and emissions to a minimum, while keeping oil circulation efficient and fuel economy high.

RESISTS OXIDATION AND THERMAL BREAKDOWN
Conventional oils oxidize in high operating temperatures, producing sludge and deposit build-up that contribute to corrosion, increased engine wear and decreased fuel economy. AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W40 Motor Oil resists oil breakdown, maintaining its cooling and lubricating properties and providing extended drain intervals. It continues to provide maximum protection at temperatures that oxidize conventional oils. The advanced heat transfer capabilities and high lubricity of AMSOIL High Performance Synthetic 10W40 Motor Oil keep engines running in their optimum temperature range for top performance and long life.

Thanks for the advice, but could you give some links to the official document from Chrysler which mentions this issue?
