Hey Guys,

Hopefully this is the right forum to post this question. I was wondering what options I have out there with regards to 15" wheels for the patriot. I was going to lift it first, but it seems like that comes with alot of issues with regards to alignment and control arms, so I don't have the time/money to deal with all that right now. An aggressive wheel/tire combo would make me happy :)

Thanks,

I'd highly suggest an alloy wheel. The weight savings will positively affect gas mileage and make it easier to get your Pat moving.
I've read that alloy wheels can't really take a beating though. I work at sites that have lots of loose gravel that flies around, plus I have a tendency of hitting stuff from time to time. Do you think alloy would still be the way to go?

Alloy rims are just fine, if you hit a big rock, instead of bending the lip the alloy rims tend to crack...either way it's game over for either. Some rock crawlers use the steel rims and fill their tires to lower their center of gravity.

Also some of that liquid ice crap can pit alloy rims as well, but I think they've changed the formula a few times recently to prevent that. I'm planning on switching ASAP.
