Speed Control for Patriot 4x4 2.0 CRD

I bought my Patriot last december and it`s my first Jeep. It is a Jeep Patriot Sport 4x4 with a 2.0 CRD diesel-engine. My dealer has so far used x-numbers of hours to try to install Mopars speed control kit, but no success.
Anybody out there who have tried on the dieselengine?

I'm sorry I dont quite get it!!--- Why would you want speed control on a 6 speed manual gearbox??????

It is rather useful thing with diesel engines, despite manual transmission. My CRD can drive in 4th gear from 40kmph to 80kmph easily without much engine stress (even up to 120kmph, but revving too much), with 5th gear from 50 kmph to 100 kmph and with 6th gear from 60ish (or 70kmph) up to... well... I took it up to 160kmph

It can also du uphill with 500 kg boxy trailer - with 1700 revs in 6th gear!

Its probably a Brit thing----I allways want complete control over my vehicles. I had cruise fitted on my big Skoda Superb but never used it!! I know that in some countries cruise is illegal in rush hour traffic, going through road works & wet of icy conditions!!Plus its governed by a computer so I would never have faith in it kicking out at the right time. I used to Race cars in my early years so the whole concept is alien to me!!

I got it too, but i tell ya, i never use it except for looooong trips on the highway (foot gets tired on the accelerator, oh, poor me!!)

I actually use it a lot. Commuter traffic is pretty slow and steady. Ill rather rest my leg driving "asleep". If autostick were available with Id bought it. The Pat is no racer anyhow... (But it sure beats my previous Grand Cherokee around corners!)

For my diesel, it is great thing outside Montenegro. First, it allows me to obey stupid speed limits (like 50kmph), I just set cruise to proper speed, and wait for speed limit increase. In Montenegro, roads are just too curvy to be able to drive safely with this thing on. I need to change torque often in order to drive safely with higher speeds.

You all seem to have the Limited version which has the cruice control as standard.
My patriot is the Sport-version which is not fitted with the cruice control.
My question was if anybody has got the cruice-control kit installed in this version? My dealer says that the ECU won`t accept it.

Just checked it out in Owners handbook!! Max Gross Trailer Wt. 2 Litre diesel engine manual---450 kg ( 1.000 lbs ) Quote--Do not use Speed control in hilly terrain or with a heavy load!! If you experience a speed drop of more than 16 kmh ( 10 mph ) Disengage control until you can get back to correct cruising speed.
