Does anyone know of a replacement bulb that can be used in place of the stock bulb used in a 2014 Patriot factory driving lights that is brighter but wouldn't burn or melt the original housing and lens? Any information would be appreciated.

As far as an upgraded halogen, there's really nothing else that fits unfortunately.

the PSX24W bulb is a weird one... not too common.

What I did was order the LED upgrade from Diode Dynamics, the XML2 in 5000K Pure White.

They sound expensive, but are totally worth it if you value night time visibility while utilizing the factory light housings.

I think I paid about $130 for my set... I think it was money well spent. My safety is worth the cost. Plus they came with a 3 year warranty so I don't have to worry.

Not many options out there, most of the inexpensive LED's aren't that great and throw less light than a halogen. It's when you spend at least $50-100 on LED's when they start to really impress. The Cree XML2 is a great LED. Diode Dynamics is a great company to order from, I also got some top of the line LED brake lights for my LeBaron. They are second to none!

The halogen H-3 has different wattage amounts that give you a possible change to a more brighter option. I haven't checked the factory bulbs in mine, other than just viewing the bulbs thru the lens. They appear like the two prong bulbs that you could change like the older dome light bulbs. I thought that someone here on the forum would for sure have changed out the factory stock bulbs. Your correct, you really do get what you pay for. Thanks for your imput !

I installed Xentec 5202 HID bulbs and its been great. The 5202 bulb even the halogen bulb is the same except the tabs are different. Just cut them off and you are fitment free.
