I am a member of the RRO lift club. I can't speak to the off road capabilities before and after the lift because I have only taken it off road post lift install. What I can say is that I went to a private off road park and scraped bottom very view times, had a great ride and kept up with two Wrangles that have 33" tires.

Saying I am pleased with the purchase and results would be an understatement. The install took about 5 hours and allowed me to get "30 tires on after I bent the pinch weld in the wheel well.

2008 with RRO lift & rock sliders, Geolander AT's. 130,000 miles and still going.

It's starting to come together!!!

I just received my RRO lift kit today,I've got the tires already, and I have the wheels on order...they will be here soon.

When it's all said and done I'll take pics of my '014 riot....no lift stock.....lift with stock wheels and tires....and then...lift with Pro Comp 16x8 7032's..and General Grabber AT2 235/70R/16 boots!! can't wait!!!:pepper:

Cheers,
Bill.

Will, nice to see you're still around. Any problems during those 130k miles?
Yea I'm still around but I do more looking than posting. Only thing I've really had done is I replaced both lower ball joints at around 80,000 and the right side again at 125,000 with an alignment. Other than that just the usual normal maintenance. I'll keep it till it dies.

Strugglin'

I received my RRO kit today, broke my reddy heater yesterday, -8degF here in N. Fargo, heater parts due to arrive Friday, what to do, what to do?

Thanks for the post Bill, the pictures with the lift and stock tire size actually looks really nice. I was concerned, because I am unable to buy tires right now.

Thanks guys!!!

Congrats Bill! Welcome to the club. Not sure I reported in actually. I did mine in late November. Love it.
Thanks jLutz it's awesome being in this club and congrats on your lift!!

Toolmaster, glad you like the pics, they really don't do the reality of the lift justice, the riot looks incredible with that lifted stance, and rides so nice you really notice that you are up off the ground...a really nice feel......and...don't worry all in good time, everything will come together, all the pieces will fall together. Sometimes in a project things happen to delay it....but it will come together. Right now I'm waiting for my wheels to come in,when they do,and I get the tires mounted and balanced and installed I'll post pics...can't wait!!

Here is a couple more pics the one with the two pats is a shot of my lifted riot beside my wife's unlifted riot...the pic still does not do the lift justice.

Cheers,
Bill.

Thanks jLutz.

The tire size is 235/70/16...and they are mounted on Pro Comp 7032 16x8 5x4.5 bolt pattern 4.5" back spacing......the Grabbers at this size just, and I mean just, barely lick the plastic fender liner over the pinch weld..that plastic can be moved back with a finger about 1/4"...it can spring back...and like I said the tire barely licks it..and only on turns to right or left both front wheels...so no mods necessary at all.

I do have a question..the guys at pro comp answered it for me but I'll run it by anyway...

.....the 7032 wheel hub bore is larger than the hub center on the vehicle...the fellow at the tire shop said there are spacers to make it hub centric...I phoned tech support at Pro Comp to see if they had a spacer for the Patriot and this particular wheel....
....The Tech said that they hadn't sold wheel spacers in ages, and that if you use wheel lug nuts with a 60 degree taper, and they are torqued properly that you don't need the spacers at all to make it hub centric or centered concentrically ....it holds in that position no problems, and that the wheel was designed to hold without the hub centric spacer...how do you guys feel about that..the tech did kinda put my mind at ease about that..or...should I be hunting down spacers to make it hub centric.

Cheers,
Bill.

Thanks Bill, it's looking like I need to look into that pinch weld mod. The tires I'm looking at are 8mm(little over a quarter inch) bigger. Oh well, the mod will buy me some space for when I pack those wheel wells full of mud or snow.

I think my rims will have the same issue... Or non-issue. You should be ok, as long as the bolts Taper so they can't move. Given the weight of our vehicles I doubt it's necessary.

RRO lift done, service is not.

Installed the Rocky Road Outfitter's lift kit on my 2009 Patriot in 6 hours time. The patriot is still at the dealer, there was issues with inexperienced mechanics and unprepared service department.

I made an appointment 2 weeks in advance to ensure they were prepared and had my new tires on hand.

They did not have my tires. Then after 2 hours they tried to tell me that the rear struts were installed wrong because the spring appeared to be crooked, and after 4 hours they sent me out with a +2.4 degree front camber and -2.9 degree rear camber, and they claimed that the rear toe couldn't be adjusted.

So I expressed my concerns with the manager and he gave me a 2014 Patriot to use until they get it done right, and get my tires on.

Sorry to hear this Toolmaster.

I shopped and asked around a bit,and I kinda lucked out by dropping by a tire-suspension service shop...and...I found out that they used to do all the alignments on the lifted vehicles from the local off road mod shop(until the off road mod shop got an alignment rack)....but these guys at the tire shop have been doing this on crazy lifted vehicles for years, and I got a vibe from them, that they are enthusiasts, and know what they are doing, I was correct...they did a magnificent job...and they were blown away by the results of the look of the lifted, and wheeled up tired up Patriot...none of them had ever seen one done up like this before.

The stealership..well I ran it by the service appointment guy about doing the lift,they-he didn't seem to interested (I guess they don't like business and money LOL!!!)..the exact words were..."we don't get into that"...when I told the fellow who sold me my Patriot....he said What!!!!.....we do lifts all the time...sooo..there is definitely a disconnect at the dealership, and I got the "don't let them do anything to involved with my vehicle" vibe from them. Funny thing is when I went back to the dealership with the finished Patriot all lifted and wheeled...the owner came out and was blown away and they were taking pics of my vehicle, and they couldn't say enough good things about it...so go figure!!

Hope they get yours all sorted out.

Cheers,
Bill.

So I just got my 2014 Patriot Latitude 4x4. I plan on putting the RRO lift on it with some 16x8 rims with 4.5 backspace. And 235/70/16 tires or maybe 225/75/16. I'm wondering just how much my fuel economy will go down. Also if anyone has had any problems with rubbing even after the pinch weld mod or without it. And lastly I've heard something's about a shuttering after the lift is done and I'm wondering if that goes away after a little or if it's a real problem. Anyone have a similar setup and some insight for me?? Much appreciated!
