Thinking about getting one for xmas. What brands and styles are avail for the Patriots?

Can you all post pix of your roof racks and if you have factory rails or aftermarket?

Just trying to gauge what all is avail out there since there seems to be a lot of options.

Thanks

I have OEM roof bars and a yakima basket. I love it. Best advice is to just look around. I went with the OEM roof bars because some of the aftermarket roof bars are vehicle specific and I wasn't exactly sure if I would like it or not. Plus, some of the stick over the side of the vehicle and I can't stand that.

Can't post a picture right now but I have locking crossbars from Amazon and a Curt Roof rack. The bars stick put a little but cost $75 and I couldn't beat that. Also the rack cost $108 for me. I will put up a picture later on though.

What he said.

I have the curt roof basket like Chrispl57. It holds tight, and holds boxes of beer nicely. Plan on putting a spare tire up there when I get a full sized one. Most of the time I use it to pull myself up onto the top of my Patriot so I can take a look around, using my tire as a step. Also with the curt they make a 21"(length) extension to add to the 41.5"(length)x 37"(width)x 4"(height) original basket.

I got my oem crossrails from the dealership for $140cdn and the rack from kijiji for $100, rather than the $200 elsewhere.

Apologies for the super late reply Murphy Slaw, yes I did get them.

They've been useful once thus far, we added 3 kayaks on top when we went to Lake Powell couple of weeks back.

I plan on getting the Highland basket;
or the Rola;
in the near future and plan on utilizing it only when we go on dirt roads with a full spare on top. We don't do any crazy offroading, we simply like to get out of town and explore the desert :)
(better to be prepared than not out here, especially in the desert/middle of nowhere with no reception).

Just ordered a rage powersports heavy duty roof basket from amazon. Really happy with the look. Had to replace the hardware for my oem cross rails because the knobs got in the way. Very well built and easy to put together. Thought I would share some pics.

Low profile rack..

I really like the low profile look of this roof rack,it doesn't sit up high off of the roof and,and the shape and bend of the side bars,also, I like the aerodynamic air foil on the front,again low profile and it blends nicely,very nice looking roof rack!!

What hardware did you use to replace the stock tightening knobs with??

Thanks for sharing,

Cheers,
Bill.

Great idea, I have mine spaced up with a rubber mat I cut up. I might try this to drop the rack down the 1 1/2" and make it tight to the roof.

I run the curt as well, I will be extending it soon though as I don't like the short look. My phone camera is broken so I can only use the face one.... But yea that and I bought the Apontus universal bars that are perfect. Only complaint is the clamps are plastic, not to much confidence is it's livability.
If your wondering what the one extension will look like with a curt rack, here it is.
