I don't care for the in channel ones. Have seen it lead to door rusting issue( on trucks anyway due to the gap it causes at the bottom by the outside rearview mirror that lets water inside the door - on the Patriot? ). I use the exterior mount ones and am very happy with them. Running the AVS exterior mounts on my 2011. $59 for the set. You guys are vastly overpaying with this $80-$115+ pricing. :wow:
Ha.. I prefer the in channel ones. I also already have what looks to be rust coming out of one of the "port" holes at the bottom of the drivers door. I haven't checked the passenger one yet though. Does anyone else have this?

Maybe I should go to the dealer.... But, what could possibly be rusting in there and what would they do anyway? Replace the entire door? Doubt it..

I had the in channel ones on my 08 GMC Sierra and the first week of owning them I noticed that the window was getting scratched by them where they were inserted in the channel. If I knew that was going to happen I would have gotten the outside ones for half the cost. I plan on picking up the outside ones for my riot in the spring when it gets warmer out. the 3M tape doesn't stick to well when installing them in this cold weather.

I had the in-channel ones because they do look better, but I had the same issue as pvirga88, they scratch up the window. I'm going to order the outside ones for my new Patriot.

NHPATRIOT, where you did you purchase the AVS deflectors? There are many sites that have them but I seem to remember getting mine from one particular site that had a little bit of a lower price. I'm finding $65-75.

Glad to find this thread and see what you all think. I was thinking about vent visors on Ghost but am torn btwn in-channel and the stick on exterior... After reading this thread though.... I am still torn at which one to go with.... Any one have more input?

I've had in-channel vent visors for every vehicle I've owned. I just recently installed them on my pat and each window gets stuck right at the top and won't close all the way. The other day I put my window down and the visor just fell out, I've never had this happen to any other vehicles. Any fixes?

I use them because i like the outside air when parked in the summer time. I also use them when it is not cold enough for heat, and not warm enough for Air so i open these to allow some air in.

I have used stick on ones but i am thinking of getting the in channel.

So weather tech or AVS? Which in-channel to get?
I have the stick-on (not in channel) AVS. I prefer that the stick-ons cover the whole rear door windows. The in-channels look odd to me, but its all personal preference.

I'm satisfied with the AVS product. They look good.

I didn't even know Weathertech made vent visors at the time, (I dont believe Weathertechs are offered on Amazon, which is where I went to order) but I probably still would have chose AVS due to cost if given a choice.

I've had the in-channel Weathertech for years on a few different vehicles and no problems even with Central NY winters. If the AVS don't work out, the Weathertech have worked very good for me. Good luck!
