Good photoshopping but these wood shields look sooo ugly.
I´ve never understand why you US guys loved wood looking cars in the past decades.

Just my 2 cents

:)

I do too...and my Patriot is green! Something to think about....

Fair question, and I could never understand why Germans put flower pots on their cars, or why kids pay thousands of dollars for huge speakers to drive them deaf. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

I love those old surfer wagons. I think it goes all the way back to covered wagons heading out west. That sense of adventure in the old covered wagons carrying over to modern day woodies.

I like it on the Patriot too. I would like to see one with the wooden trim framing the wood paneling. Like on a Buick Roadmaster Wagon (without the peeling).

I sure like this woodie. It's a '36 or '37 Chrysler Town & Country that shows up at a lot of old car shows around here. In the shows where the cars are judged, nobody else has a chance. This old-timer has collected enough trophies to fill a museum. That's all real wood, too. They sure don't make 'em like that anymore.

You made a typo...it's a '46 or '47. It could even be an early '48.

FWIW...I sent off an e-mail to Woody Wagoon to ask if they have a woody kit for the Patriot in work.

I wouldn't be embarrassed to drive that T&C, like I would a mini-van. My T&C is a 1963 New Yorker. No Wood though. Much better with the wood. or "In the crate" as my friend calls it. ;)

Rends, I guess a simple answer to the question, is that it's in our [american] blood. Especially those who admire the SJ Wagoneer, and even older, even more classic, with real-wood cars.

The great thing about the Wagoneers - is they COULD get you anywhere, and as i said in my last post, look good doing it. They also got you there in comfort and luxury [for the day]. Not too many "wagons" could get you to these picturesque points

Yes we had flower pods in some cars 40 years back and the only current model with flower pot is the retro VW Beetle. But noone wants it back now.

Well i think it looks good on oldtimers but to fit wood on some new models looks something wired.
One reason might be you guys grew up with such (wood) cars and it might remember you about the good ol days. I don´t had the pleasure to saw them frequently so they look somewhat exotic to me.

Nothing wrong with the Woody look ___ years ago I had an old Morris Minor 1000 Traveller .An original British woody!!

Suzq044, what did you do there? That grill shouldn't be with those tail lights, should it? What year is you Wagoneer?

I put the 2nd generation grill on my 1980 Wagoneer.
