Hello everyone. I'm new to the whole forum but not to Jeeps. I currently drive a black '08 Patriot 4x4 Limited. Yeah, so I was still statoned over in Italy when I had my wife go to the deal so I ended up with a non-trail rated Patriot. I'm now in North Dakota and it performs quite well on the snow/ice/slush covered roads, which I'm happy about because I'm from Florida and know nothing about winter driving. I'm here to learn more about what I can do to and with my Patriot and meet some cool people along the way. See you around...

She did get the jeep even though there were a lot of other choices at the dealership.
So tell us more about what she did come home with.
You said stationed in Italy so It sounds like you were or are in the military.

Well WWWORTH, there were a few things I insisted on her getting on it, the Boston premium sound system, moon roof, leather, ect., and of course 4x4.
I hadn't done much research into new SUVs, as being in Italy you drive old cars and there really isnt a need for anything nice, although I did have a very nice '89 BMW M3 which I still wish I had but would be a nightmare on the frozen North Dakota roads.
Due to my lack of research I assumed that all Jeep 4x4's would be trail rated, but live and learn and dont let your wife buy your vehicle.
I am however actively looking into Trail Rating it through my own means starting first with tires...so if anyone knows the maximum AT tire size for the stock 17"x6.5" wheels, please share. Also a nicer roof rack with integrated lights, a lift, and tow hooks.
Any other info on upgrades to help Trail Rate it would be great...
