I have no factory NAV and in anticipation of future wants I picked up a GPS on sale the other day.

I have a question.
Yes, I have read the instruction booklet, gone online and poked around their support forum, etc.

I want to build a route. So far, despite following the book, all I seem to be able to do is build a bunch of single stops. Tap the first one up, it guides me there, then I have to tap the second one up. Repeat.

Is there a way to combine all the stops into one route such that you drive to the first, it then begins to direct you to the next in line and so on?

Its a Magellan 5230T if that helps at all.

I hope you didnt give too much $$ for it. Magellan wouldnt have been my first choice in GPS and you should have gotten a "LM" version which can pretty much be had for the same cost if you look around a bit.Anyway, the 5230 does have multi destination routing and there should be a way for it to do what you need.Im just taking a shot in the dark since i dont have this particular gps in front of me,but from reading the manual if you set and route and press go,and then go back to the menu and set another route,it will add another destination on your route,or you can set you first destination, press go,then scroll around the map until you touch the map where you want to go also and it should place a "push pin" on the map and add it as a destination on the route as well.Hope that makes sense.Page 17 on the adobe reader but shows page 8 in the manual

Yes, it has lifetime map upgrade and I got it because it was quite inexpensive...$59 CAN which is a steal given our prices up here.

I have no need to be a power user, all I want is to be guided through a strange city to the other side every now and then.

I've downloaded the .pdf and have read and re-read it and I am familiar with the point you make...I do get a visual of those push pins but it seems that is what is setting up all those individual addresses, rather than incorporating into my route.

Also when i tap for the push pin some just place the push pin, some splash a menu where I could add info, like a normal address entry. I can't discern a difference as to why.

I'm sure I'm just missing something...I'll keep at it.
Anything else would sure be appreciated still.

$59 CAN is pretty cheap with the LM upgrade. id buy it too. sorry cant be more help but ive got one other idea for you. So you say youve looked online which is no help but im guessing you looked online on how to multiroute the particular gps you have and no other models.Heres what i suggest trying if you run out of ideas or information. Find a Magellan GPS that is almost identical to your model. One that will probably have a few extra bells and whistles added to it and look up how to multiroute that model GPS instead of your model. They probably have the same instructions/steps on how to multiroute.Just a thought on giving you some more search ideas online :)

You may have to set up "way points" first, then use those to create a "route" Garmin is the best at being easy to set up, even the elderly ones--my GPSMap 276c is 10 years old and can show you which lane you're driving in...

I agree with jack .. a while back I bought a garmin nĂĽvi 2797lmt and could not be happier with it.

read all the reviews on each mfg first. garmin was ahead of all others, so went with the garmin

to swap oem uconnects for one with nav would have been an extra $1,000 usd .. i think not!

a tad late now for you to switch now, but great cost savings on your end.

good luck with it!
