My passenger side driving bulb went out the other day on my 2008 Jeep North edition. Can you recommend a replacement that'll give me some better light at night, and high beams, as well in the fog when i make my way up the mountain. I'm in Vancouver, BC so have read over some thread that some retrofit HID and blue lights are illegal (not here to discuss that) - but I'd like to get recommendations.

edit: I've searched the forums and read crystalvision are good ones to go for ($24/pair on Amazon.com). Any others? Other Canadian stores?

Would appreciate some links to products. Picking up local would be a bonus instead of waiting for ebay/amazon order to come in. Thnx.

Phillips extreme power, in H13 will be the brightest halogen bulbs you can get, they aren't that blue white look, but a big increase from stock. I ran them in my 08 patriot.

If you want that white look, the Phillips crystal vision ultra gives off the white light, and while not as bright as the extreme vision, it is a noticeable upgrade from stock.

As for the fogs, the extreme vision bulbs would work great for them.

Thanks. I'll take a look at those Phillips ones.

A friend recommended the Piaa Super whites. They're $55/pair on amazon.com, so twice the price, but are they twice as good as crystal visions?

I don't have fogs (yet, I plan on doing the upgrade at some point) so am only looking for the H13 t this time.

I haven't used the PIAA superwhites, so I can't say

I did have the crystal vision Ultra's on my Compass H11 low beams prior to my LED conversion and they were brighter than stock, I would lean towards them if they are cheaper.

Just remember the higher in temperature scale you go (xxxxK) the whiter or more blue the light is, but less usable light output you get.

Thanks. If I drive in the snow and fog occasionally, would I be better off going down in temperature scale? Say get a bulb with a bit of yellow in them (as much as I don't like yellow) just in case?

I may just drive another week with one bulb and order the lights to my PO Box in the USA and get them cheaper.

Can you recommend a place that sells Philips Crystal vision or extreme power at a good price and ships fast?

I have bought from this guy on ebay, My LED bulbs and resistors ect.

If you drive in rail/snow or fog, it is an advantage to have yellower bulbs.

It looks like phllips doesn't have anything yellow in the 9145(H10) style.

I would recommend the Crystal Vision for the headlights if you want the white look, and then put yellow bulbs in for the fog lights.

In my 2008 I ran something called "HDR" halogen bulbs, in my foglights, they were very bright and yellow, and worked awesome in the fog. I actually have these same type of bulbs in my compass (but H11 style)

"HDR Xenon Super White Headlights (HID Style)"

Those are the bulbs you are looking for in 9145(H10)

if you have any more questions feel free to PM me.

Thanks for the tips and links guys.

My Pat didnt come with any fog lights so just need to driving ones for now.

Looks like it's a toss up between the crystal vision and the extreme's.

Can anyone recommend an aftermarket fog light kit? I found another post with a guy who bought theses on amazon:

Just curious if those are still a good way to go, or I should be looking at something else?

Nokya 9005 JDM Yellow Light Bulbs

My worry would be 80W rating. The fog lights have plastic lenses that might melt with such bulbs. I'm going with 42W bulbs. I believe stock ones rated the same. Right now I have Philips 55W and even with glass lenses they get pretty hot.
Nokya rates their bulbs in wattage higher than normal but in fact they usually are the factory wattage, its more marketing than anything else, but double check the specs to make sure.

On my 08 Patriot, I ran 80/100w bulbs in my headlights, and didn't have issues, but the foglights didn't work with higher wattage bulbs, not because of the heat, but the higher wattage caused the TIPM to freak out.
