Hey Guys! So I recently purchased a 2011 Jeep patriot from a dealer used. I recently ran into an issue with my radio. The other day I went to start up my car and my radio just stopped working. The unit display still functions properly but I can't switch between cd/radio/aux. The volume control works on the display but only when I turn the volume knob down. The weird thing is that when the system isn't working i'm getting a popping noise from my speakers. The volume of the popping noise varies but it is pretty consistent, about every 5-6 seconds. I called the dealership and they didn't have any useful insight on my problem. Before I have to take it up to the dealership I wanted to check and see if anyone on here has had a similar issue or not. Or if any of you have heard of this before. I feel like it might just be a defective radio. I checked all of my fuses and none of them were blown so I'm a little confused as to what the problem could be. Thanks guys!!!

That does sound like it could be the cause Terasec. Would the radio still be able to work with a blown preamp? I'll have to contact the dealer and see if this is replaceable/covered under warranty. Thanks for the quick response

radio would get power,
but most of the features wouldnt work,
clock may work, could eject and stuff, but probably wouldnt play and not get volume,
volume and sound comes from preamp so wouldnt work with out it,

on my radio volume number wouldnt go higher than 1-2 and there is no sound,
