Next thing I installed was the Kenwood KDC-X997 head unit. I didn't take any pictures of the install because I was too busy cussing at the fact that Chrysler ran actual cables to the vent control selector switch and the temperature switch. I did take an image of the finished product though.

I'm just glad to have gotten rid of all of the damn wires from the aftermarket XM receiver I was using. Now the only wire I see is the one for the phone and I can live with that... Not to mention I have hands free calling built into the radio too.

That was the number one thing I enjoyed about upgrading to a Bluetooth headunit a few years ago. It makes such a huge difference
I had this radio installed in my Caravan before it died and I was hoping it'd be a simple plug and play, but it wasn't... I did it right and got the interface that will let me add a navigation radio down the road. I just need to figure out which one and if I want to try to fit a double DIN in there or find a single DIN that has a motorized display...

Added the factory fog lights and had the computer flashed today:

Also added the Expedition Portal decal I ordered, as it seems to be the thing that I'm currently heading toward. I want to get out there and explore like I did when I was younger...

Odd that your FD1 has an actual full-size Goodyear in the back, mine only came with a donut.
On my options report it's listed as TBBP Full Sized Spare Tire. I'm wondering if it wasn't an option on the 2008's but they've since discontinued due to cost? I wish it were an FDII, but I needed a car. My other option was a GC, but I didn't really like the way the interior was laid out. I fell in love with the Patriot though. Don't plan to give her up until she dies of old age...

It's been a while since I've done an update to this thread...

I've relocated the head for the Ham Radio. It was getting wet when it rained.

Debadged the front and rear:

And Applied flag decals to the back windows:
