1st time ever clay barring: http://youtu.be/lylUf9-hbGo

It was a rigorous cleaning process but well worth it. This is the 1st vehicle I have ever done a claybar treatment on and I must say it's SO worth it. Being a brand new car I didn't think there could be that much garbage trapped in the paint but I was wrong. I thought I knew what smooth was I was also wrong the finish is smooth as glass. I finished it off with a nice coat of Eagle1 nano spray wax.

any experience with a black vehicle? my Jeep is new but my black Crossfire has some scratches and scuffs.

After the clay is used up for paint it still does a great job on glass. It gets all the silicone and stuff off that RainX and etc leaves behind and clears that bug gut residue off real well.

Not when its real gritty but when its too dirty to use on paint.
Glass...not plastic.

I just winterized my Patriot. I really like the Wolfgang line of products. I washed my Pat with Wolfgang Auto Bathe, dried it, then claybarred using a clay lubricant. The lubricant can be a detailing spray or actual spray clay lubricant, but you must use it generously to allow the clay to glide and to prevent scratching. I spray both the clay and the surface before I start a section.

For winterization, I then use Klasse All in One Polish, followed by Klasse High Gloss Sealant Glaze. This stuff is off the charts bullet proof sealant, taking our Pats through Central New York winters and coming out beading like new when April arrives!

In spring, I use the cleaning and clay process again, then I apply the Wolfgang equivalents of polish/cleaner and sealant, which are almost equally outstanding in longevity, but create an even deeper shine. Check out the AutoGeek.net site I linked above - it is a treasure trove of instructional videos and products.
