Heads up on a service notification:

Email I sent yesterday:
Recall Information - Jeep Brand Site
Brief Description:
There is a customer satisfaction notification 07 MK DLR listed on my car
but I cannot see the details. What is this about?

REPLY:
Thank you for contacting the Chrysler Group Customer Assistance Center
regarding your Jeep Patriot.

Upon researching this notification, we must request you visit your
authorized Jeep dealership to repair the TIPM (Totally Integrated
Powertrain Module). The TPIM must be reset by your dealership to ensure
proper function. Any authoirzed Jeep dealership will be able to perform
this repair for you at no cost.

Thanks again for your email.

Sincerely,

Brent

Does this mean they have to update the flash? Appears to impact all the March 4x4 Limiteds?

mine is 272273 nothing
I've got a 5 speed. Am not sure if that makes a difference. FYI I've had no problems. While gas mileage has been in mid 20s that seems correct for the driving I am doing and the low mileage driven so far. So that there is a service notification is not due to any problems I am seeing.

I have a sport 4x4 5 speed with a higher vin (mines says Feb, 07 build) and I get the same recall notice on the jeep site, so...
thanks silvermike for the e-mail posting, because the click-on the link returns a notice that "one of us got lost..."
I guess DCX will be notifyig us directly? - I have had no problems with the riot, but only 1400 miles so far.

Wonder if it has anything to do with our Daytime Running Lamps?

I know I filed a complaint and had the dealer fix my issue maybe when others took their cars in they also filed complaints themselves to jeep or their dealerships for them. Just a thought. Limiteds are the only ones with the Daytime running lamps I think so that would make since. As for it only being for the 4X4's maybe no one has filed a complaint with a 4x2? I have a 4X4 limited.

It is for the Daytime Running Lights. I'll take care of it Monday along with the trailer hitch. The part was mis-ordered.

Oldskidog, The build date on mine was March 16, 2007. I just gave a partial VIN on mine figuring that would be sufficient.

Well, if it is just the daytime lights, I am relieved. I got a little concerned when the "powertrain module" appeared above... I don't much care about the daytime lights.
Guess I'll have to point out my heated mirrors on the sticker when I take it in...

Thanks again for posting that information.

Thank you InfernoPatriot. I cross referenced the threads. The service notification is not clear on the website as the details have not been posted. Your posting in the DRL thread, the timing of the notification (5/15) and the "DRL" in the notification descriptor had me assuming that they were related. I just didn't get enough info from DexC to confirm it until speaking with the dealer today.

Oldskidog, Maybe you could request they provide you with Jeep logo-ed hand warmers when you have to use the manual digit defogging method because of the non-functioning mirror defrosters :smiley_thumbs_up:
