Ive actually had several young girls in compasses wave at me. I feel that the compass/patriot group is closer than say pats/wranglers especially on the road.
Could that be more due to the fact, many drivers of other Jeeps, don't see "ComPatriot" drivers as owning "real Jeeps"?

To me, I see us as having more in common with Liberty and Cherokee owners than Compass owners.
Even though, the Patriot and Compass are practically the same vehicle, they appeal to different groups, thus the reason for offering both.

I don't think so. More likely the Compass owners just recently were in the market for a Jeep and investigated both cars. Because a Patriot looks like a Jeep I think that many Jeep owners who have a life :icon_rolleyes: don't follow the latest offerings from DexC.

I think that a lot of Compass owners are just glad they have the "perfect" Jeep. As in, the perfect vehicle that fits their needs. It gets great gas mileage and has decent looks, all for a great value.

I posted some numbers on the board somewhere but it's worth restating: The Jeep Compass has a 89% switch over rate right now. Meaning that 89% of first time Jeep Compass buyers are coming from another brand and buying the Compass. Now granted the monthly volumes on the Compass are low but a lot of people do like it.

I wave at every Patriot & Jeep I can

Really low investment by Jeep to get those new customers. For some body stamping machines and plastic molds you are able to get 3000 first time Jeep buyers in a demographic group younger than your typical buyers. Smart move!

Now for waving at every Jeep - They might think i'm trying to turn off the seat belt buzzer :p as it seems every 10th vehicle is a Jeep around here.

I saw your post on the buzzer, I almost fell out of my office chair laughing... (The liberty is identical but no one ever made the bee comment)

I think the bee association belongs to bobbyt but I'll take the credit. We both like cars that leak fluids.

How about a Thumbs Up?

As I was pulling out of the Post Office yesterday I saw a khaki Patriot Limited coming down the street. I stuck my hand out the window and waved. The two guys in it looked puzzled until they saw me give them a thumbs up. They gave me a thumbs up too!

I'll wave at another Patriot - once I see one pass me (hasn't happened yet). Seems to me though that the "wave" only catches on for select cars like the CJ/Wrangler (and of course motorcycles).
Wrangler owners share the common trait of being willing to put up with the vehicles lack of road manners in order to own something that is synonymous with off-road fun. So they truly identify with eachother. Well, thats my theory anyway... having owned one till the "ex" got it.

A friend once told me after a 4 hour road trip in my Wrangler that "This thing isn't a vehicle, its a lifestyle" and I couldn't agree more.

That said, when I start seeing some other Patriots around here I'll give them a wave.
